Epiphone Release Custom Matt Heafy Signature Models
Epiphone have announced that they are to release two limited-edition, custom models by Trivium frontman Matt Heafy – the Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom and the Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom-7.
The Limited-Edition Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom 6-string (U.S. MSRP: $1,165) features an EMG-85 pickup in the neck position and an EMG-81 pickup in the bridge position, an Axcess heel, ebony fretboard and an easy access 9V battery compartment, while the The Limited-Edition Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom-7 seven-string (U.S. MSRP $1,332) shares all of the same features as the six-sting model, but with an EMG-707 pickup in the neck position and an EMG 81-7 pickup in the bridge position. If you know what all that means, you are probably very impressed. If you don’t know what all that means, here’s a video of Trivium being awesome in In Waves:
“Matt is the ideal Epiphone artist. His passion for music and quality can be found in everything he does,” says Epiphone President Jim Rosenberg. “We’ve been fans of Matt for a long time. His enthusiasm for every detail of these guitars was an inspiration. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with on these Les Pauls.”
The Matt Heafy models will go on sale this March. Meanwhile, Trivium are currently holed up in the studio with Disturbed frontman David Draiman working on their new album, which will be the follow-up to 2011′s In Waves and inevitably brilliant.
