You have to be carefull with stuff like this. Cause you might just end up promoting the X-Factor single (although at this point, anythings worth a try)

To be honest, its never gonna work. If you look at the top of the charts for the last couple of weeks most of the top 10 or 20 is comprised of ‘artists’ who have either appeared on the X-Factor/Britains Got Talent as contestants, as guests or will appear as guests.

But, if I’m also being brutally honest, Simon Cowl is an evil genious. If I met him, I’d shake his hand, kick him squarely in the balls and then make him tell me all his secrets.

It has to work, for rock music and everything it’s ever meant, for the intergrity of the charts and the people who honestly buy records – for all of us who make our own music and don’t rely on talent shows/manufactured “groups” to take credit and ride on fame. I believe in this if we get enough people to buy Journey’s single. Again. I believe there are still enough people left who believe in true rock.

If only this could actually take off…..

Maiden came alarmingly close to the number 1 on xmas with DIFFERENT WORLD in 06, pity they didnt win.

the original needs some radio play, thats the way to get it to the top, on radio [old fashioned maybe, but it works]. remind people how good the original song is, have it played frequently, whilst being careful not to promote the xfactor version, which in this mainstream media world of BBC radio etc etc….will be hard

Tbh, X Factor is pure wank. They do the same shite every year with the same bands from the same bloody genres.

What we need to do, is get everyone to change the fucking channel when its on, that way ratings would go down. And poor ratings = no show. I think that Jouney idea was good, but it’d never fully work.
