Get your Download tickets!Download Festival At Donington Park has confirmed that its third and final headliner for the 2009 event will be the hugely influential and pioneering American rock band Faith No More. They will join Slipknot and Def Leppard as headliners for Download, taking place 12-14 June.

After the band released a statement last week, this is the first date confirmed by Faith No More thus far. Live Nation VP of Promotions Andy Copping says of the news: “Faith No More were the band that started the whole alternative music scene. To have them play for the first time in eleven years exclusively at Download is amazing! They had so many huge hits, I can’t wait to see the set list – We Care A Lot, From Out Of Nowhere, Epic, Falling To Pieces, Midlife Crisis, A Small Victory, Digging The Grave and not forgetting their awesome covers of Black Sabbath’s War Pigs and The Commodores’ Easy. They are one of my favourite bands of all time and being able to see them headline at Donington will be unbelievable. This is like the second coming of Christ!”

Download will take place on June 12th – 14th at Donington and will feature sets from Slipknot, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, The Prodigy, Limp Bizkit, Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson, Korn, ZZ Top and many, many more.

“My Dad loves FNM” Dear god I may aswell by myself a stenner stair lift and a zimmer frame now then!

Best announcement yet, this is something I never imagined I would ever live to see. The haters obviously don’t have taste, and obviously don’t appreciate how massive an opportunity for all this is.

This will be, for lack of a better word, ‘Epic’.

Mike Patton once said in an interview that he apologized for starting “nu metal” with Faith No More. Fair point, I’d say they defined that whole rap/rock crossover scene (Anthrax only did it twice with “I’m The Man” and “Bring The Noize” and Aerosmith/Run D.M.C. was a one-off). FNM ran with it and kickstarted a whole new genre of music. Who thinks Limp Bizkit are going to get taught a serious lesson that weekend??

this is a killer line up and fnm were one of the first bands i got into. im stoked to be going

shame its not with Jim Martin…..they were never as good after Angel Dust….still a lot better than Limp Bizkit!!!

why cant lamb of god and mastodon play download

Mark Darnell

I’m quite glad Jim Martin isn’t back in FNM, yeah he was a great guitarist but he was a total cock. And Album Of The Year was a awesome album (they didn’t die after Angel Dust !!!).
