king of heavy metal

haha sad fact my parents named me after this song

Chris/Harry

But your name is king of heavy metal not ben. :P Haha bad joke, im sorry

This is why they are truly awful

This MJ tribute would’ve been courageous and affirmative had it been done while the man was alive. Of course, it is rather nice even now.

A fate rather similar to MJ awaits Dave Mustaine too. Dave will be ‘understood better’ once he is gone, when he is no longer a troubling presence. I remember how critics and mtalica fan boys made fun of Dave when RIP came out, for Dawn Patrol. Dawn Patrol was the first environmental anthem. But at that the idea was less known. Of course there were reports about CFCs etc. But nobody conceived of a disaster … So Dave Mustaine is/was born posthumously.

Damn thats bad. At least the Crowded House cover made me laugh.

The bloke needs some singing lessons if he is going to sing ballady pop songs- the worrying thing is that he is getting crowd appreciation!!

Jughead

Johannes Scott- That’s OK because I’m still laughing at Metallica and their silly nancy-boy fans for “Nothing Else Matters”.

this is absolutley piss

You fools, do yourselves a favour and go and listen to some Faith No More. Mike Patton’s a genius.
Go back to your emo/deathcore wank if you don’t appreciate it!

You guys dissing FNM quite frankly dont know shit. End of.

Legends pure and simple, not as good as the eastenders bit at reading tho lol =P

JDPower

Mike Patton may be ‘a genius’ and Faith No More a great band BUT that is painfully bad.

FNM will always have more talent than MJ. But I was there and I think you could see me in the middle. I had no idea what song they where doing but now I know. If you are dissing FNM, you have so much to learn.

And it’s funny. This is a metal website yet people are calling this awful. I guess MJ was one of the only pop stars metalheads could get into.

vazzer you twat mike is taking the piss, he allways has check out their own music before you dis fnm,
and i’d rather put a mj cd on the emo anyday fuck that lol

wow….. taking this far too serious. I think its a good cover, and believe me, patton isn’t new to singing shamless pop. Think about it, live at brixton they break into new kids on the block for a few seconds, Epic is poppy rap metal and Mr. Bungle’s, California, is like a schizo lounge music album. Theres nothing wrong with that either, because, it takes alot of versatility and balls to do that in front of metal heads. a Lionel richie cover is one of their biggest hits and on the same album they have jizzlobber and malpractice. Of course most metal purists won’t like this, but, you know….. fuck em.

@paul. They would be ok if it was 1975!!!!

Alot of people seem to be forgetting that Faith No More, are a very tongue in cheek band at times.

Yes indeed I was just thinking that myself GazzaScotland, people do seem to totally forget FNM are SO tongue in cheek, people take them way too seriously sometimes. Any people who are slagging them, I find that just crazy, they are pioneers, amazing amazing band. Many modern day bands are highly influenced by them.

St George

it could only be FNM to cover such a song..shows the power of Mikes vocals and the diversity of his talent. this band are legendary. great performance

he need voice lesson…

need voice lesson it take years to get the tune.. ha..ha

funfact: Michael Jackson wrote that song for a boy called Ben Dover.

Ben is a song about a Rat, a rat named Ben, the movie is also called Ben, its kinda horror and melancholic at the same time from 1972

This is a really good read for me. I don’t really have a bunch to say in response. I just wanted to comment to reply “well done”. It seems like you’ve put a ton of effort into your blog, and I thank you for that.
