Faith No More Return! Full Line-Up Revealed!
Best! News! Ever!
Faith No More have officially reunited and will be touring in the very near future. Do you know how good it feels to be typing this news!?
In a statement sent to Blabbermouth, Faith No More bassist Billy Gould has said: “FAITH NO MORE has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat — its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile.
“Throughout our 17 years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe. Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we’ve experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.
“What’s changed is that this year, for the first time, we’ve all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we’ve discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right. Meanwhile, we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kick-ass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we’ve decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff…. BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!
“We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM.
“Who knows where this will end or what it will bring up… only the future knows. But we are about to find out!”
Faith No More’s 2009 line-up will be:
Mike Bordin – Drums
Roddy Bottum – Keyboards
Bill Gould – Bass
Jon Hudson – Guitar
Mike Patton – Vocals
Excited much? We bloody are!

FNM FOR DOWNLOAD!
Big Jim needs to be there
and then I’d call it a FNM reunion.
Bit slow off the mark Hammer, I’ve been creaming in my pants constantly since Tuesday night! Just hoping they play a couple of shows and not just festivals like Rage did.
OH FUCKING YES!!!
Nice of you to put a pic of the wrong line-up then.
Trey Spruance isn’t playing this summer.
FAIL.
please do a full UK tour.
You want it all but you can’t have it.
These ungrateful egos ain’t gonna deliver like it’s 1990 again. Move on, folks.
yeah but having never seen fnm, this is a dream come true!!! i want soundgarden to do the same
christ, faith no more are complete and utter balls!
Any reason why Jim Martin is not involved? It’s probably out there on the internet somewhere but I can’t be arsed to Google for it.
Top news!! Saw them on The Real Thing tour in Brisbane, Australia in a club called Transformers. It was a pretty snooty club (why they got booked in there I’ll never understand) and the doorstaff were not letting in anyone with t-shirts, black jeans or hi-top shoes. I think this was in 1990, EVERYONE in metal wore that get-up. FNM’s tour manager came out and told them that the gig would be cancelled if they didn’t relax a bit so that was cool of them. The Hard-Ons were support and the power kept blowing out. Then the stage divers and crowd surfers started to get beaten up and thrown out. One guy who was standing on a wire mesh doorway over the toilets went through it and ended up paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Another guy tried to speaker dive and cracked his head wide open. FNM totally crushed!! For a kid just out of high school it was a bit of an eye opener for me, an awesome night. Can’t wait to see them again.
loves them! theres your 3rd headliner for download. its gona be a wicked festival and i canot wait to go! lets rock and roll!!!!
ROFL 3rd headliner? Have you not heard the hype about Download’s 3rd headliner? where have you been?!! The eagerly awaited final headliner is going to be a major band who will please pretty much all the fans, someone everyone will have heard of and love.
If they do play Download, Faith No More are more likely to be headlining the second stage, as an alternative to one of the bigger bands on main stage, maybe Slipknot perhaps, who knows, but all will become clear soon.
You might be right, Timbo, but if Lostprophets can headline Download, Faith No More fucking can !! : )
what i read om the ukmetal forum that big jim has been left out though he said he’d be up for it, im guessing their some bad blood still from the rest of the band after all they did give jim the boot shame real cos i would like to see him there but saying that im not missing it at all
Oh my god amazing really i was gutted when they split up there was something about that band that woke up a generation of musicians and influenced so many people..
WELCOME BACK GUYS YOU HAVE BEEN MISSED SO MUCH..
it looks like Rock music is back with a bang this year..amazing just amazing…100% metalhammer for this news…wow

i am absolutely stoked that FNM have got their collective bums together again. i saw them at the nec back in the nineties and they totally tore the place up, well actually the fans did hehehe. that gig still ranks as the best gig i have been to, roll on the summer.
stuart
No Jim Martin.
Very dissapointed, wont be attending.
Ah, all the ignorant pretending to be fans who complain about no Big Jim Martin.
Jim Martin was the (ugly!) poster-boy for FNM, check your history books and you’ll find that after The Real Thing he had very little input. He wanted to be Metallica2 – tough titties Jim, and thank God.
If you rue the day Big Jim got fired then go out and burn every FNM record you bought since The Real Thing (in fact, burn ‘em all) then go and sit in the dark and jerk off to Slipknot or Metallica. Like usual every night.
