Festival Maths: Another Batch For Download
The Rock Am Ring line-up (which takes place the week before Download) has just increased. Come and take a look at the latest bands who may end up at Donington! Get Download 2010 tickets here!
You know the drill by now, we keep our beady lil’ eyes out on what tours and festival bills are going on around Download and Sonisphere and we add the names that we think may end up on both of those bills.
Today, Rock Am Ring added a shitload of bands and here are those that we think could end up at Download: 30 Seconds To Mars, Lamb Of God, A Day To Remember, The Hives (maybe, maybe not), Hammerfall and Heaven Shall Burn.
Again, we could be wrong but it would be against our better nature not to speculate.
AC/DC, Megadeth, Bullet For My Valentine, Deftones, Motorhead, Volbeat and Stone Temple Pilots are amongst the first 9 bands confirmed to be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Donington as the home of rock and metal! Get Download 2010 tickets here!

LOG back at rocks home!
how about some sonisphere maths….
I don’t think ADTR would do three years in a row. They suck cock anyway.
30STM are likely, but I don’t care for them. I’d love for LOG and Hammerfall to play. I’m going to be missing them this year (LOG because I’m going on holiday, HF because I’m seeing KISS on the same day).
The Hives?! Oh yes!!
do some festival maths for sonisphere
I agree with John, why do you always do the festival maths for Download and no other festivals, I’m sure some of those bands could play Sonisphere, afterall both Slayer and Rammstein are playing Rock AM Ring and Sonisphere
Heaven Shall Burn are awesome.
I’d go for Heaven shall burn couldn’t give a toss about the rest.
But it’ll never happen because heaven shall burn wouldn’t bring in the pounds
THE HIVES? YES PLEASE
Lamb of God and Heaven Shall Burn = Good times.
speaking of download when is the next announcement does anyone know?
hammerfall are more of a bloodstock band. so are heaven shall burn thinking about it, would love to see them anywhere tho!
Lamb of God and Heaven Shall Burn = Good times. CarzPage
I know its a bit off topic but i heard from a secure source that 2011 Iron Maiden will have new support for all European dates of their new tour and the band will be Gamma Ray and UFO keep reading on.
@John and Bob: They’re doing this for Download because these are more likely hints and possibilities. They aren’t doing as much festival maths for Sonisphere because there hasn’t been much news that could lead to possibilities of bands playing Sonisphere. Like Bon Jovi’s upcoming tour in London, there was a point where they had one date free which was the same as one of the Download days.
It’s not like they’re choosing to think about stuff for DL and not SS, they just have more to “work with”, so to speak
30stm? Why them? There are so many other bands that actually play good music out there, would someone be able to tell me why they would have a band of 3rd rate posers at a decent festical such as Download?
I clicked on this because i thought these were the new announcements grrr.
Just announce them already!!
DIdnt even know The Hives were still playing gigs. Pretty good band.
Add John Garcia plays Kyuss to the bargain and we’re fine
saw heaven shall burn at wacken last year, and the circle pit they got going was just insane, gotta have been one of the biggest ever. Download would be stupid to pass up on HSB, they’d fucking destroy one of the tents if given the chance
To all those people who bought Sonisphere tickets…chill! How do you think us Download fans felt when Hammer speculated every cool band in the metal world was going to play your festival.
I do hope lamb of god play Download. I missed their stellar show last time so i’d love to have the chance to see them again at Donny!!!
Hammerfall may be more of a Bloodstock band, but I reckon they’d still go down a treat at Download (Firewind played a couple of years ago, and Dragonforce seem to be there every year)
30 Seconds To Mars and A Day To Remeber are both dreadful. Saying that I’m not a fan of Hammerfall or Lamb Of God either.
To be fair, to celebrate 30 years of Donnington, you should be looking at bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Testament, Metallica, Anthrax, and possible a reunion of Black Sabbath as some of the bands to be there. Forget shite like 30 Seconds To Mars and A Day To Remember.
@ james widdowson maiden, slayer and anthrax are exclusive to sonisphere so that wont happen. id presume the continued existence of heaven & hell, their headline spot at bloodstock and the court case between iommi and ozzy would rule out any kind of black sabbath reunion
i think metallica will be at download, and then some crappy emo type headliner for the kids on friday. but 2 decent headliners is enough to convince me to go
as usual with bands playing lower on festival bills, look who is touring europe in the summer and see which bands have new albums out, generally shapes the bill of at least one festival
Lamb of God back,
YES PLEASE.
LOG Oh yes, like to see Hammerfall too.
HAMMERFALL AND LOG!!!! SWEEEEET!
