Have you ever acted prior to ‘Bled’?
Ivan Moody: “No. This was my first experience in the field of acting. I was really excited to do it and I can’t wait to see the final result!!”
What can you tell us about the character you play?
Moody: “I play the creature in the film better known as “The Incubus”. It’s a wraith-like monstrosity, that dwells within a dream world parallel to our own. He has figured out a way to manipulate the system, so to speak. Through a hallucinogen derived from an ancient bark, he pulls women into his world by invading their thoughts when they are inhibited by the drug. As he thrives to find a way to crossover into our world, he feeds on those who stumble into his realm.”
How long are you onscreen for?
Moody: “You’ll have to watch and see! I can tell you I was on set for around a week. Prepping the costume and getting in make up took anywhere from 2 to 4 hours depending on the shot, so I had to be on set at 6:00AM every fuckin day. Which if anyone knows, it’s like living HELL for me!! I’m nocturnal, so it’s a pain in the ass to get myself up at the crack of dawn!! But the makeup crew was stellar so it made the process easier to handle… It was a lot of work, we shot a lot of footage but we’ll see how much of it makes it in the final cut…”
Did you feel at home playing a blood-thirsty demon?
Moody: “More at home than I would dare to admit. There was a definite passion to my character, dark and cold, shrewd and devious. Though, I don’t want people to get the wrong impression: the Incubus is NOT a dry or unresponsive character, nor is he unable to comprehend emotion. He has a need for companionship as any being does. Then again, I wouldn’t go starting an argument with him– his temperament is FAR from stable!”
Would you consider doing any more acting after the ‘Bled’ experience?
“…ABSOFUCKINLUTELY!! It was beyond words being a part of something that was on the opposite side of the spectrum of the entertainment industry. To see what actors and actresses go though was pretty eye-opening!! In the same time, they have it pretty good… Every thing is catered, there are runners and make up artists constantly catering to their every whim. I mean, WOW!!??!! Then again, I can’t envy them too much because I love what I do – there’s nothing like the energy of a live performance… Imagine an arena filled with people screaming “Death Punch”… I Wouldn’t trade it for the world, but I am looking forward to acting in the future. I think I can bring a certain intensity to the screen – because I live it on a daily basis.”
