Five Finger Death Punch will have new single ‘No One Gets Left Behind’ released on March 8th 2010 via Spinefarm Records UK. Taken from the band’s latest/second album, ‘War Is The Answer’, and with studio track ‘Undone’ included as a bonus, the single will be available on 7” coloured vinyl (a limited, hand-numbered pressing) and as a download with a digital booklet.
The artwork for both formats features photos sent to the group by fans currently serving in the US military – specifically from Heavy Marine Helicopter Squadron 462. Since the release of the debut 5FDP album ‘The Way Of The Fist’ back in 2007, the band have gained increasing support from US troops on active service, as a result of which their ‘Death Squad’ motif now regularly features on combat vehicles & choppers along with the ‘No One Gets Left Behind’ call to arms.
This latest single, the third from ‘War Is The Answer’, coincides with 5FDP’s headline appearance at our very own Hammerfest 2 on March 12th – 14th- get tickets to Hammerfest here. THE PRESTATYN SHOW will also witness the UK unveiling of a brand new mic stand – the ‘Al Qa-deathpunch’ – designed for 5FDP frontman Ivan Moody by Alchemy Studios in the UK. Produced in solid stainless steel and weighing in at a massive 12-13 stone (!), the mic took over 120 hours to complete, and is a combination of the “classic Alchemy Gothic style” along with themes relating to the band’s ‘War Is The Answer’ release.
“This was the most inspiring challenge we’d encountered in a long time,” says Alchemy founder Geoff (Deth) Kayson, “weeks of creative and developmental work, followed by industrial-scale, white-hot, heavy-duty foundry stuff, but the ‘Al Qa-deathpunch’ has been worth every minute of it!

i don’t understand the fuss about five finger death punch, their music is so tired and lightweight, it’s right down there with crap like drowning pool.
agree with The Teeth of Gods, I only listen to stuff like 5FDP when I’m in the mood for some straightforward, uninventive, mediocre metal
Fantastic live though, and I would disagree on the mediocre lightweightness. Each to their own.
think drowning pool comparison is a bit harsh – could at least say they are closer to bullet for my valentine.
I’ve only just got into them, sure they dont do overly complicated music, but that’s not really a negative aspect of them, I think they convey much more lyrically than musically.

it isn’t the simplicity of the music that is the problem, some of the greatest songs of all time revolve around very simple ideas.
it’s just that, to me at least, they embody the same coat-tail riding that bands like drowning pool had, they’ve brought nothing to the table at all, its just cleverly marketed radio pop with shouty bits to catch the ear of rebellious teens. it’s purely vacant.
not a fan, but badass mic stand, if a little gimmicky, but i suppose thats the band all over really; all about the look, no real substance.

I have really attempted to get into this band but to be honest they are crap ( sorry my opinion). I don’t “believe” the music and I cannot relate to it, it feels like pop metal, which has been really over produced.
With the new Fear Factory album out….its all I am interested in at the moment….

Awesome band, not everyone needs to be groundbreaking experimental prog wonder boys, this band plays solid catchy and quality heavy metal that entertains which is the whole bloody point. The mikestand is fucking cool as a cucumber.

Seems like you don’t know anything about music if your say they ain’t heavy, then you’d say that Iron Maiden ain’t heavy either, and then you’d deserve to get your brain busted out since their some of the kings of heavy metal!
In my eyes it seems like you’re one people who don’t know a shit, and thinks the only “heavy” things is grind core or even death metal, wake up dude, HEAVY METAL is so much more, it has a wide spectrum in it, so saying FFDP aint metal just makes you a douche bag
not quite sure how anyone can honestly say that they are shit, most of there songs are very well written, and a fair proportion of the riffs are absolutely immense!they are talented musicians, and I have not hard that much emotion from a singer in a very long time!only criticism is that they need a bit more variety subject-wise. cool stand as well, but for the wrong band.

@Laurence, a comparison to Bullet for my Valentine isn’t something to be proud of i’d say, as it’s mostly geared towards some bloody screaming teenage girls. Their music is simple and sometimes some of the best songs are made of the most simple ideas. But their music is hollow and I can’t see any feeling in it, there’s far better music out there.
