These awesome newcomers may not be a household name with the UK metal fraternity just yet but their involvement in the Defenders Of The Faith 2 tour, alongside co-headliners Lamb Of God and Dimmu Borgir, could work wonders to change that.

Metal Hammer sat down for a quick chinwag with Five Finger Death Punch frontman Ivan Moody to hear just why the UK should be very excited indeed about the band’s UK touring debut.

How excited are you about coming over to the UK as part of Defenders Of The Faith 2?

Ivan Moody (vocals): “We receive a TON of mail from Europe and most it from the UK. Groups of fans trekked across the ocean to see us live here in the US, so finally we can return the favor and come over there! And who could ask for a better debut than Metal Hammer’s festival, one of the greatest magazines that keeps metal alive! It’s an honour to be invited.”

Are you a fan of the other bands on the bill? 

Moody: “They are all great bands! This is really a powerful bill. Lamb of God are an FFDP Favorite.”

What will FFDP bring to the bill?

Moody: “We’ll be DEFENDING THE FAITH with all we’ve got! Pure heavy fuckin’ metal!”

As we’ve never seen you guys live, could you tell us what to expect from your show?

Moody: “In the US, our concerts have required double the security and double the amount of ambulances. They still usually run out of stretchers. I hear the European metal heads are even crazier! So this should be completely INSANE. We can’t wait!”
