Fred Durst To Collaborate With Neil Diamond?
Could this just be the most bizarre, and ill-conceived collaboration of all time? Durst & Diamond via Twitter, anyone? Get your Download tickets!
We love a tweet at Metal Hammer. Seriously, follow us and you’ll find all kinds of madness going on but this is one of the more bizarre Twitter encounters. Returning nu-metal hero Fred Durst and legendary crooner Neil Diamond in a collaboration? Surely not…
The episode started when Diamond updated his account, making some book recommendations. This seemingly innocuous post elicited one very unexpected response from a certain ‘freddurst’.
“@NeilDiamond” wrote the nu-metal pioneer, “I am a huge fan of yours. We should do a collaboration – Neil Diamond meets my band Limp Bizkit. Sounds fresh.”
Even more surprising was the Diamond response: “@freddurst I’d love to, where and when?”
“FANTASTIC!!!!! Incredible!!” Twittered Durst in reply. “What a dream come true thanks to Twitter!! I’m in LA. Follow me and we can direct message.”
And there the breadcrumb trail ends – for now. Keep ‘em peeled on Hammer.com for any further developments.
Download will take place on June 12th – 14th at Donington and will feature sets from Faith No More, Slipknot, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, The Prodigy, Limp Bizkit, Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson, Korn, ZZ Top, Down, Journey and many, many more.

Oh deary me.
