Fucked Up, Andrew WK And More Cover ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ For Charity

fuckedupxmas_90Christmas classic is covered by members of the punk and hardcore community. Next week, Hatebreed doing ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’. Maybe.

Fucked Up, Andrew W.K., Bob Mould, David Cross, Ezra Koenig, GZA, Kevin Drew, Kyp Malone, Tegan and Sara and Yo La Tengo have teamed up to record Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’. The track is available now on iTunes and charity groups Justice for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (Montreal), DTES Power of Women Group (Vancouver) and Sisters in Spirit (Ottawa) will receive 100% of the proceeds from sales of this song.

Even better, Fucked Up spent the money they received from the Polaris Prize (the Canadian version of the Mercury Music Prize) on recording the track.
