Newsted AND Trujillo To Play At Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame Show
More developments in the Metallica Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame story, as it now appears that Newsted and Trujillo will both perform at Saturday’s induction. Get your Sonisphere tickets here!
Less than 48 hours after former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted told the press that, as far as he was concerned, Rob Trujillo would not be performing at the event, a spokesman for the groups label, Warner Bros., has stated that: “Jason and Robert will both be playing Metallica’s induction songs.”
Newsted had commented that he had never expected to play in the first place at that he was “totally on-board” with the current incarnation of the band performing without him.
“I felt strongly they should go as that band and represent because they’re strong right now together” said Newsted. On a more positive note, the bassist added: “We’re just gonna to have a great celebration.”
Sonisphere will be headlined by Metallica and Linkin Park and will take place on August 1st – 2nd at Knebworth. Also on the bill will be Nine Inch Nails, Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Alice In Chains, Mastodon, Anthrax, Airbourne, Thin Lizzy, Killing Joke and The Sword.

Bad move. If Iron Maiden ever get nominated, would they get Paul Di’Anno, Blaze Bayley or Dennis Stratton to perform with them? Don’t think so, as it would undermine the credibility of the band.
In my view, let him be there, but he shouldnt play, Those playing should be the One(s) that are in there at the moment, FAR too many complications otherwise
