Swedish Hammer favourites Grand Magus have signed to Roadrunner Records.
A full statement from the band reads:
“We are thrilled with working with Roadrunner Records. We regard this both as a great sign of recognition and most importantly a chance for us to really push ourselves and the music to the point of perfection. We are confident that the team of us and Roadrunner will be something really special.”
Roadrunner Records will release Grand Magus’ new album, “Hammer Of The North”, in spring/early summer of 2010.
If you’re less familiar with Grand Magus than you should be, here’s an 8-minute reason why you should be creaming yourself about a new bout of Magus being on the horizon.

GRAND MAGUS ARE FUCKING GREAT!
I would like to wholeheartedly concur with the esteemed Mr. Henthorn’s statement.
Grand Magus are great but Roadrunner Records have a way of taking Metal acts and then making them obscure like 3 Inches Of Blood, Still Remains (broke up) etc.
Iron Will was great, this is a band to watch that’s for sure.
I have two of their albums. Just be careful with RR, because they’re a shower of dodgy bastards.
i think its great they’ve signed to roadrunner (even if they do screw some bands over) look at the way they’ve boosted the careers of porcupine tree, dream theater, kiss etc in recent years. the extra exposure will ultimately let more people know of the greatness of grand magus, cant be a bad thing
A worthy choice of band to sign (Y)
Kudos to RR
First time I listen to these guys great stuff!
Saw them at Bloodstock 2008 and they were awesome.Be nice so see if roadrunner get some new material out of them.
