Nice list, but still … no Megadeth or Anthrax?? And I can’t say i agree with no.1, but that’s a matter of personal taste as much as anything I s’pose.
And nice to see some much-needed love for Pink Floyd, even if it is on a list of metal albums.

No love for At the Gates or In Flames I notice, but Melodeath never has been a chart topping genre anyway.

Korn aren’t there because they’re a rancid, steaming, pile of ponderous, over earnest shit.
I can fully understand why Master of Puppets is Number 1, but Personally I’ve always preferred Ride the Lightning.
Oh, and where the hell is Iron Maiden’s Killers? That’s way better than Fear of the Dark and half the other albums on the list.
….And Metal hammer Greece apparently thinks Carcass’s Heartwork isn’t one of the 100 greatest metal albums? Madness!

Wow, what a bullshit list. It’s like they just chose the best-known albums by all the biggest names in rock (and I say rock not metal, because there are a shitload of bands here that aren’t metal). Come on… MOP, NOTB, BIB, Paranoid and RIB all in the Top 10? Could this BE any more generic?

Nirvana are awesome and definetly deserving of being in a top 100 just not to be in with metal albums since they were grunge lol. Can’t complain about the top spot it is epic although plenty of albums there could have been higher on the spot (my top three albums are Slipknot’s Iowa Machine Head’s The Blackening and Metallica’s Master Of Puppets)

Greg – it may be generic, but for a ‘generic’ list, there are still a few gems in there: death, at the gates, etc.
lets face it: with people voting it’s unlikely it’s going to be anything other than generic, as those ‘generic’ albums are liked by the widest variety of people.

I think the term ‘Heavy Metal’ is being thrown around a bit too freely these days. Pink Floyd? (as mentioned above). Tool?? Guns n Roses?? Theres big differences between Rock and Metal that people aren’t grasping.

and the Nirvana/Floyd/Tool/ albums are there because there are certain connections and association with Heavy Metal in general,and after all anyone who doesn’t speak Greek and can’t read the comments on every album cannot understand the reason they are voted,as for the 80’s thing,admit it that no ”classic” album has surfaced since the end of tah decade,maybe some in the 90’s but they had not the same sense of grandeur and significance…

That was a great list! I’m surprised at Manowar being in there and Sepultura, as well as Paradise Lost, but not really disappointed because I love them. I was also shocked at Savatage’s “Hall of the Mountain King” being on there because they fell apart after that album (my father’s opinion rubbing off on me). Slayer and ‘Maiden were in all the right places, but why the Hell is ‘Ride the Lightning’ better than ‘Kill ‘Em All’? ‘Cause ‘Kill ‘Em All’ is way heavier and both of those albums beat the crap out of the “Black Album” and “Master of Puppets.” Well, those two at least beat “Death Magnetic.”

Sorry, my dear Greek friends.You need to update your taste for heavy metal music.Your list just shows that you are a bunch of listeners glued mostly to the 70s and 80s.For your information,there are bands like Lamd Of God,Children Of Bodom,Dream Theatre,Inflames,etc. who are giving the old timers like Megadeth,Metallica,Iron Maiden and others a run for their money.For me,your list of Top 100 is simply out of tune from reality and simply does not make sense.By the way,who told you guys that Pink Floyd is a heavy metal band.Even Pink Floyd would be upset to see that.All and all your Top 100 list is a joke for us.Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!

The list has a lot of stuff included that shouldn’t be there. AC/DC and Guns ‘N’ Roses aren’t Metal, neither is Pink Floyd, so albums like The Dark Side Of The Moon, Back In Black and Use Your Illusion shosuldn’t be in the list. And Master Of Puppets shouldn’t be number 1, it’s not even Metallica’s best album. The Black Album is rubbish and should never get in a list like this. Greece have bad taste in Metal.
