Halestorm Win Grammy Award For Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance
Halestorm won their first Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance at yesterday’s ceremony, beating some of the biggest names of our world in the process.
Their song Love Bites (So Do I) topped Anthrax’s I’m Alive, Iron Maiden’s Blood Brothers, Lamb Of God’s Ghost Walking, Marilyn Manson’s No Reflection and Megadeth’s Whose Life (Is It Anyways?) – despite Halestorm being the newest and youngest band of their category.
Lzzy Hale, who fronts the band, said: ”I have stuff written down, and I don’t even care anymore. Thank you to our fellow nominees, if it wasn’t for your inspiration … we would not have written this song and been in this category. (This is) dedicated to all the Halestorm freaks. Here’s to us.”
Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor took to Twitter to congratulate his labelmates, whilst also pointing out that the Grammy’s seem to sideline the rock and metal genre. Here’s what he had to say:
