Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta’s Top 10 Albums Of 2009
Hardcore legend, Hatebreed frontman and all-round legend of a man, Jamey Jasta tells us his top 10 albums of the year! Get all previous top 10’s here!
Every day from now until Christmas, we will be revealing a different band/member of a band’s top albums of the year. Get all previous top 10’s here!
Here is Jamey Jasta’s top 10 albums of 2009:
10. Stigma “New York Blood” – This is a very under rated street punk/hardcore record that fans of Dropkick Murphys, Social Distortion & Discipline will appreciate.
9. Suffocation “Blood Oath” – There aint no ballads on this bad boy. This will provide silly screamo/deathcore bands with funny hair tons of new ideas to rip off haha
8. Every Time I Die “New Junk Aesthetic” – This is a monster, these guys really brought their A-game. Wow. Total great progression for ETID!
7. Thy Will Be Done “In Ancients Of Days” – Blend some Sepultura and some crowbar and throw in a little lamb of gd this is a great metal release for 2009!
6. Megadeth “Endgame” – Say what you want to say about Mustaine but he’s put out a quality album here that I have been enjoying. Love ya Dave!
5. Cannibal Corpse “Evisceration Plague” – The follow up to the brutal and destructive “Kill” album this one slays. Techinical but still memorable and a full on assault start to finish oh and no ballads either
4. Behemoth “Evangelion” – This band always delivers, they will never deviate from the brutality which makes them a great and reliable band with true staying power. The whole package is incredible, their talent, the production, the imagery, everything. Transmigrating Beyond Realms Ov Amenti makes me want to commit a human sacrifice!!
3. Black Dahlia Murder “Deflorate” – Great to see this band outlasting the copycats and paving their own way, their riffs shred and their songs hit hard. This a great album that will have you headbanging and losing your mind!
2. Municipal Waste “Massive Aggressive” – Fun record from start to finish glad to see them stepping outside their comfort zone while retaining a fun and thrashy feel
1. Converge “Axe To Fall” – It’s like they took all the best elements of all their albums and combined them. It’s a massive, abrasive, in your face album of heaviness, shredding & vocal fury.
High-five to the Jasta on this one, he’s also given props to five albums that didn’t quite make his top 10!
1. Kreator “Hordes Of Chaos” – This band has staying power like no other! Great album
2. Ace Frehley “Anomaly” – I’ve been enjoying this album since the day I got it. Classic Ace, can’t believe it took 20 years haha and I think it’s better than Chinese Democracy
3. Doomriders “Darkness Comes Alive” – Nate’s done it again, this album rocks!
4. 3 Inches Of Blood “Up The Irons” – Another metal gem from Canada’s finest, thoroughly enjoyable.
5. Baroness “Blue Record” – It’s got heaviness, melody, stoner vibes, it’s raw and not overproduced which gives it character. I dig it.

Good to see TBDM! Seeing them at Bonecrusher in Feb. Can’t fucking wait!
Finally a cannibal corpse mention, evisceration plague is fucking brutal
Totally agree with Converge at No. 1
Axe to Fall = Album of the year – FACT!
what we need now is a show with cannibal corpse hatebreed and suffocation
well if Hatebreed go to Bloodstock then you will Metal4life
I think Jasta is confused, he thinks he is in a death metal band maybe somebody should tell him he is only allowed to listen to hardcore and slayer!!
But good choices.
Jamey Jasta you fucking ledgend!!! I am so glad that someone has mentioned TBDM new album as it is incredible, definatly at the top of my favirote albums this year!!!
great to see Jamey likes a lot of the heavier stuff, at least there’s no Muse-shit in his list.
Damn straight, Jamey! A great mix of anything, and no faggotcore either!
3 Inches of Blood’s new album is called “Here Waits Thy Doom”…
