for some reason it reminded me of an 80’s fantasy movie… but in a good way

They’ve always been pretty mainstream. It’s not as bad as i thought it’d be, the first track is absolutley awesome. Mediocre album, great band.

Am i the only one who thought As Daylight Dies Was good?

I thought the album was decent, just dissapointing. It’s a lot easier to listen to though, which isn’t a bad thing. I’m just annoyed they would come to this point. I bet by the next album they’ll have completely gone away from metalcore and turned into some generic hard rock band.

@Stu: I loved Daylight Dies too. Unfortunately, they’ll never make a “My Curse 2.0″.

From one listen,its ok not great but not bad. I like starting over alot more than i did originally. Its better than as daylight dies,but obv not as good as EOH or alive or just breathing.

I dont know y people dont like this album. I thought it wasnt that bad. Not excellent though, but still pretty good.

And i agree with noobpotato, I didnt like starting over the first time i watched the video, but tis grown on me. Still think ‘Reckoning’ is a killer song.

@stuart ADD was a fantastic album.

this new one is meh for me, like Jingee says a real “let’s go mainstream” effort that borders on emo, not happy at all with this.

never had a problem with melodic choruses but this goes to far and they also don’t have the headbanging catchy riffage, it’s all slides and hammer ons/pull offs for the most.

weak by KSE standards will wait for their next effort. i’m sure with a few listens some tracks will better themselves in my standing but i can tell already it’s weak.

I’m listening to it just now, currently on ‘Take Me Away’.
It definately sounds like their most melodic album to date.

And yes I liked As Daylight Dies too but they will never top The End Of Heartache!

It’s a good record. Not as good as Heartache or AoJB but why would u expect that? Some of you guys are idiots, they obviously didnt say “hey let’s go mainstream’. They said “hey, let’s not make As Daylight Dies part 2″. They don’t want to be just another generic metalcore band which is the reason for less breakdowns and easy headbang riffs. The new sound is a bit different, It’s catchy, easy to listen to has a warm feel about it. Most of the lyrics are dark and dont deal with the same stuff as on earlier records.

Heard one song there and I thought it was rather boring. T

are you guys kidding? these are a succesful band signed to fucking Roadrunner Records. Roadrunner have an old habit of making bands more and more mainstream til they fucking suck. However Killswitch are just awesome so it doesn’t really matter what they come out with, I think this is a pretty solid effort. Roadrunner ruined bands like Still Remains and Ill Nino, Killswitch would do well to move to Metal Blade or something. As I Lay Dying just keep getting better and better, heavier and heavier and they’re getting more and more succesful. If Roadrunner fuck Machine Head over on their next album I will personally shit in a bag and send it to them and never fucking trust them ever again. To be honest though, how can Machine Head top the Blackening?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

ur all retarded. alive or just breathing wasn’t that great. howard johnson’s albums were much better and (excluding My Curse which is by far their best song) this is there best album yet. the fact that johnson is singing more than screaming now shows his progression as a vocalist and allows the band to get away from the metalcore stereotype and come into their own.

I think the album is good .i have some problem with rekoning .It seems that there is not any start and end point to this song, Take me away it’s great song but too short .

I’m going to buy this album .by the way this album is the most melodic one .it’s a shame.

compering to the last album there is an improvement.
