Ollie – Go on then fucktard, explain how the beatles invented Metal. They didn’t play Metal. They weren’t heavy. They didn’t invent the term Metal. They weren’t the first guitar based band. They may have influenced people like Sabbath and therefore caused Metal to start, however people like Chuck Berry have a more direct influence on Metal and he was the first person to have a sound described as “Metal”.

This ‘there would be no metal without the Beatles’ thing is ridiculous. It’s like saying there would be no metal without the first caveman twatting a rock with a stick! Where are you gonna draw the line?
That’s why I don’t buy the whole no sabbath, no metal point. It’s basically saying that no band will ever be better than sabbath, simply becasue sabbath were there first. Respect your influences but it’s the sign of a weak argument if your only point for it to be sabbath is that they were there first.
