HMS Hammer Announces First Band
Does Clutch sound good to you? It sounds DAMN good to us!
HMS Hammer is to set sail upon the River Thames for the second year in succession with 4 face-melting bands!
Last year, HMS Hammer featured cranium-crunching performances from Job For A Cowboy, Valient Thorr, Alestorm and Bring Me The Horizon and this year, we’re going one louder! On June 15th, the good ship HMS Hammer will take people along the Thames to the Indigo2 to party at the metal event of 2009 – the Metal Hammer Golden God awards!
First to be announced for this neck-snapping voyage are Maryland stoner legends, Clutch. One of the most well-loved bands in metal (and certainly one of the Metal Hammer office’s favourite bands!), Neil Fallon’s funk-soul brothers will be using the occasion to blast out old favourites and throw some future classics our way from their forthcoming album, ‘Strange Cousins From The West’.
Come back for the next three days to find out who else will be rocking the boat, including news of our very, very special headliners. Trust us, this one is going to be a very, very special performance indeed!
Trivium, DevilDriver, Amon Amarth, Saxon and Anvil will rock the main stage at this year’s Metal Hammer Golden God awards on June 15th! Get clicking here to vote for this year’s awards and here to win tickets to the metal party of 2009!
Be sure to come back tomorrow when we announce another band set for HMS Hammer!
