Hulk Hogan Wanted To Play Bass For Metallica

hogan_90I bet he did. Come on in for this year’s most insane story.

Wrestling royalty Hulk Hogan has confirmed that he applied for the once-vacant slot as bassist in Metallica. Oh and as if that didn’t make the story mental enough, he also tried to get in contact to become the bassist for The Rolling Stones.

You think we’re making this up, don’t you? Well, here comes the quote:

“I was in England presenting an award with Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger’s ex, and she told me The (Rolling) Stones were looking for a bass player,” said the Hulkster. “I sent her a ton of merchandise that she asked for and said ‘Tell Mick I’m a great bass player.’ I never heard a word back.”

Funny that, innit. You’d think The Stones would give the pioneer of the skullet the gig in an instance.

“When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either” said a shocked Hogan. “I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for Metallica.”

Words fail us. At least he’d be able to get the crowd going with that thing he does where he cups his ear. ‘Hulking up’ would look pretty bad-ass on the build-up in ‘Enter Sandman’ too.

Coulda been a great vocal doubled team of “Yeaaaaaaahhhh”….”BROTHERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!” but that’d have been about it. I have no idea if Hulk can play Bass, I’d guess he probably can.

Hulk plays bass – he recorded a hilarious pop album in the 90s under the name Hulk Hogan and the Wrestling Boot Band.

Bee_Gee

He could’ve stagedived off the foldbacks and done some kick-ass backflip like he was off the turnbuckle. Brilliant!

Mothmonsterman

I don’t think Hogan is the backflipping type of rassler Bee Gee. At his age, I’d be surprised if he could do a sunset flip.

and metallica didnt even bother reply?! thats madness lol

this is hilarious.. and danny that video is quality lol

that would’ve been amazing live lmao

THUNDERLIPS. THE SUPERIOR MALE.

I hope they invite him to play for them…
just the once…
Now THAT is something worth recording at a gig!!

Fucked up story. Next you’ll be telling us the Ultimate Warrior tried to join KI$$ (he had the spandex and make up anyway!!) Have to agree with Jingee, just one song would be cool. There’s more of a chance of Mustaine rejoining them though!!

“Whatcha gonna do when Metallica and Hulk Hogan run wild on yoooooooouuuuuu!!!”

Err… probably puke laughing.

nailman – St anger would have been SO much better!!! In fact, so would the new one. Fantastic story.

I am quite curious to know how good of bass player the HULKAMANIA really is

TomithyTTomilson

Well they pretend there last album was good………… and he pretended that he could wrestle………….. and the stones pretend like they’re still important. They should have let him join the party!!!

Maybe Hulk Hogan would have stopped them making Load and ReLoad…one can only dream

He could of doubled up as security lol

How awesome would that be? And think of the “hulking up” they could do to the songs…

“Disposable Heroes” could become “Hogan’s Heroes”!
“Harvester Of Sorrow” becomes “Harvester Of Hulkamania”!
“Wherever I May Roam” becomes “Wherever Hulkamaniacs Roam”!

and so on…

exit light enter night take my hand……WHAT YOU GONNA DO WHEN METALLICA RUN WILD ON YOU!!!!! heh heh

or

GIVE ME FUEL GIVE ME FIRE ME THAT WHICH I DESIRE OOOOOOOOOO BROTHER!!! :P

Good god! That would have been genious! And not in a good way! I would have been priceless to see Hogan scoop slam Lars and give him the leg drop!

I would love to see one of my favourite wrestlers and become a bass player for one of my favourite bands

Would have loved to see Hogan in Metallica, would have be awesome. http://www.play-bass.com
