Ihsahn To Play One-Off Hammer-Sponsored UK Date
You wanted the best, we brought you the best. Ihsahn will be playing an exclusive one-off Metal Hammer sponsored show.
Ihsahn will play an incredibly rare one-off UK show on August 19th at Camden’s Electric Ballroom. The former Emperor man will be bringing his unique brand of black prog-metal in support of his outstanding new album, ‘After’.
Speaking about the date, Ihsahn has said: “The first show I ever did outside Norway was in London with Emperor in 1993 and now, 17 years later, I’m really excited to return as a solo artist for my debut UK show”
As you can imagine, the excitement in the Hammer office is at fever-pitch for this one, and Hammer editor Alexander Milas had the following to say about it: “Both during his time with Emperor and as a solo artist, Ihsahn’s compositions are nothing short of genius. Having been privileged enough to see his first-ever solo show in Norway not long ago, I can say this show promises to be truly sublime. Metal Hammer is proud to sponsor this landmark event and to support one of heavy metal’s true visionaries.”
Tickets for this show will be on sale shortly.

Hmm, right near Bloodstock…
Ihsahn must be at BOA then!!! WIN!
ooh, london. I didn’t expect THAT! oh wait, yes I did…
When you say “one-off”…???
Ihsahn at Bloodstock would be awesome.
I think by one off they might mean 1 off Academy style show, nothing about Festivals. Would be good if he made Bloodstock!
perfect replacement for behemoth if they have to pull out. would be even better if there both there though
Hey Guys
Ihsahn isnt playing Bloodstock this is an exclusive
one off show in london no other uk festivals or shows
will be played
cheers
He looks like George Michael in that photo…
Bloodstock please
I would literally swim to London from Ireland to see this if I had to. ‘After’ was a simply breathtaking musical achievement. Now that I’ve lived with it for a few months, I would even go as far as to say it’s the single greatest thing he has done since Emperor. By far the stand out record of the year for me so far.
I do feel sympathy for those of you who live up North, having all the big gigs in London, but just be thankful you don’t have to get in a plane to see them!
I’m still feeling the financial blow from when I went to see Rammstein last month. Add in the cost of hotels and flights and it cost me more than a bloody festival! Not that it wasn’t totally worth it if course!
