i hope its not the last album and tour. it will be a really dark day for metal when maiden finally call it a day.
i think they will finally finish after re-living all the albums and tours, we’ve had the early days and somewhere back in time, both tours either side of studio albums. they still need to do the early 90s and 00s to follow the trend.
i can not wait until sonisphere, 6th time for me and 4th for the wife!

Realisticlly Maiden can’t really do a tour in the UK unless there going to play football/rugby stadiums up and down the UK because you can’t go from say twickenham or the o2 to a 5000 capacity as much as i’d love to see them in a small venue

Awesome. True, Bassman, I’d love them to play here first, but at least we’ll have been able to get to know the new tracks by the time they hit the UK properly. You can’t chant along to a song you’ve never heard before…!

Obviously I’m looking forward to this enormously, but including the word “final” in the album title is a little ominous (even if its primary reference is to space).

Yer Sonisphere is there only UK show this year, maybe Dream Theater for Sonisphere to that would be Awesome!

Guys……it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that because Dream Theater are the guests on the whole tour, they are therefore the ‘very special guests’ underneath Iron Maiden on the Sonisphere website

Anyway, it sounds like their final studio album, which I hope isn’t true, but if it is then so be it – not even Iron Maiden can keep going forever

AMOLAD was so boring. At no point is it anything other then predictable, to the point where they just re-use the same chord patterns and progressions in many of the songs.

Everything is overlong, and what you are left with is a band trying to write epic songs and trying to hard to write stadium sing alongs etc… and just falling flat. They need to revisit the roots if this is the last album, at least go out on a high.

Bring back the edge, the uncertainty, the attitude!

Didn’t Dave Murray say a while back that the plan with Maiden was always to release 15 studio albums and then end it?? This would be album 15… a world without Maiden… Christ…

If it is the last studio album (and it probably will be, given the title and the ‘we can’t do this forever’ comments during the previous tour) then the touring duties will be going on for at least three years, and it looks like Download 2011 has got a headliner…

Plus Blaze and Di’Anno to join them onstage at one point before the end of it all.

If Maiden are gonna stick to the cycle that Rod said (Album – Tour – History DVD – Tour) then they’re gonna be around for a while longer yet, considering the last History tour was 1985.

They’ll still have 2 more tours at least for that alone. Then another album in between those.

Also, Steve has constantly denied that he would have Paul and Blaze back on stage, even if it was the band’s last ever show.

I reckon we’ll get a stadium tour in Summer 2011; as was said; its difficult for Maiden to play anywhere else!

Nico said in an interview posted on the Sonisphere website that Maiden intended to tour in Autumn after the release of the new album. So fingers crossed they will be playing in the UK before xmas!

Harris did mention 15 was his number but i watched an interview with him a while back he mentioned that you never know what might happen after. They are enjoying themselves too much to think about calling it a day.

I couldn’t agree more. AMOLAD was decent at best. Most of the album seemed forced, like it was trying to be epic just for the sake of being epic. Not terrible, but surely overpraised.

If The Final Frontier is more like Brave New World than AMOLAD, I think it’ll kick ass.

a new album,a new tour.once i,ve listned to it then i see them again, and if it is the last album i can die with the beast and have piece of mind forever in maiden heaven.but if it isn,t there last, heaven can wait til another day.final frontier doesn,t mean the end it means there on there just starting to think about it. i know for a fact steve wants the band to last at least 40yrs which is about 2015,2016 so there will be 1more album after this one.don,t stress maidenites there not at the gallows pole yet.

I have to agree with Waspi, 15 is how many albums Harry always envisaged them doing……..
Still, they never fail to surprise…. I just hope the new album gets the critical acclaim of life and death, which in my humble opinion was near perfect….
I would like to see a barnstormer of a finale (if thats what it is) with some fast paced punchy numbers.
Cant wait to se them live with some new stuff….

I just hope they’ll be in croatia one more time.

yea i agree with that bro, AMOLAD sounded like they were trying to pull an epic out of their ass, which they probably could, but to be honest i didn’t much like the album either, the only two songs i did like are For The Greater Good Of God, and Lord Of Light, other than that the chord progressions sound too similar to me. I don’t mean to sound antimaiden, i love their music, they are the greatest band in the world, and the day they retire will be a dark day in the history of all of creation.
However i FUCKING LOVE Brave New World, and if The Final Frontier is anything like it, it will be fucking AWESOME. please don’t let this be their last album, i hate to read that pessimistic shit the other fans have written, it breaks my heart i haven’t even been to a concert yet, and i am so jealous of the rest of you bastards, come back to new zealand soon, i hope you guys do a tour here…much love and respect up the irons from new zealand
