Job For A Cowboy Talk Destroyers Of The Faith
Next year will see one of the most extreme bills of all time tour the UK as Cannibal Corpse, Triptykon, Enslaved and Job For A Cowboy combine for Destroyers of The Faith 2012! Come inside to get your tickets!
Next spring, one of the most gargantually brutal bills of all time will descend onto the UK for the first-ever edition of Metal Hammer’s Destroyers Of The Faith! Death metal legends Cannibal Corpse will top a monstrously heavy bill featuring Tom G Warriors darker-than-dark crusaders in Triptykon, progressive black metal heavyweights Enslaved and rising Arizona death metallers Job For A Cowboy. Needless to say, we’re just a bit excited – and so is JFAC frontman Jonny Davy!
How does it feel sharing a bill with such extreme metal royalty?
“We’re all fucking stoked about it – it’s the perfect tour! Even in the US, it feels like there isn’t this kind of big, blockbuster tour. We’ve toured with Cannibal Corpse quite a few times, and they’re awesome. They’ve been doing it for so long, but they’re so much fun and we’ve become really good friends.”
Do you feel like the “babies” on the bill?
“We still feel like we have a lot to prove, and this is the perfect tour to get in everyone’s faces and show that we’ve been doing this for a while, and we’re not a bunch of chumps!”
Are you here to show the old boys what’s up?
“Yeah! And those bands have a huge fanbase to top it all of, so we’re gonna step it up. We’ve done that before – the Megadeth tour was the funnest time – and we love that shit, so it gives us motivation. Every record and every tour; it’s the fire that’s been lit under our ass for so many years now, and I think it’s working!”
You’re not exactly strangers to baptisms of fire on tour…
“Absolutely! And this will be good timing, too, as we’re in the studio right now working on the new record. [Destroyers Of The Faith] will be right around the new record coming out, so it’ll be a great build-up for it. We’re very happy!”
