Joey Jordison Nearly Joined Dani Filth Side-Project

dani90Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth has been speaking to Hammer about a ‘heavy’ ‘rock’ supergroup he is working on!
In a recent interview with Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth, the East anglian started telling us about a supergroup he was involved with.

“I’m actually going to Norway next week to hook up with Rob Caggiano from Anthrax, King from Gorgoroth/Godseed, drummer John Tempesta (Exodus/Testament/Rob Zombie, The Cult), and Ice Dale from Enslaved.”

“Musically it’s very different. It’s a pressure valve (for music I want to do outside of Cradle Of Filth). We’ve been talking about it for ages and we have some songs – about six – but for some reason the record labels forbade it – I think they thought it was going to detract from what Cradle was doing. Whereas, if I can get rid of my angst that will detract from Cradle, it means Cradle will be better.”

You can hear the whole of this interview with Dani in the Metal Hammer podcast this Friday.

“Musically it’s a rock thing. Like Tool and AC/DC… that kind of vibe. Mixed with something heavier – whether it be a black metal or death metal band – but quite original.”

“We’re just going to Norway to see if it’s going to work. Rehearse, jam the songs. It’s a good mix of people.”

“Originally it was going to be Joey Jordison from Slipknot on drums but he got caught up on other things, so now we have John Tempesta.”
