patton_90For some people being in two bands and doing numerous guest appearances and side projects is just not enough, they need a new challenge.

QOTSA frontman Josh Homme is trying to tap the talents of Faith No More vocalist and serial oddball Mike Patton to work with him on his new top-secret project.

Read about Faith No More’s triumphant return here!

Ipecac Records boss Greg Werckman told Rock-A-Rolla magazine: “Josh has got a new top secret project that he’s working on right now. He’s trying to get a lot of people involved in it, too, as a matter of fact he’s trying to convince Mike Patton to go out to the desert but Mike hates the desert.”

The new project may be the latest in the series of Desert Sessions discs, the last of which was released in 2003 by Ipecac records but this has not yet been confirmed.

The record label has also delayed the re-release of Queens of the Stone Age’s first album so Homme can add further unearthed tracks.

We wait to see what contorted genius will spring from the barren wastelands of the US this time.
