also would of preferred for megadeth to get a grammy for once but i’m happy that juda priest got it instead

the grammys are a joke, live songs that are 30 years old shouldnt be included no matter when they were released! u might as well include greatest hits albums at that rate and pick from that.

still, makes a change for metallica to lose. the grammy awards organisers tend to just give them an award most years cos they treat metal like an afterthought

I agree with you Destroying Dignity. A few years ago, motorhead won the metal award for such a crappy song. When the old bands win these things, it always because of the things they’ve done decades ago. Surprising Kiss weren’t in the nominees. Lamb of God should have won.

yeah jethro tull winning best metal performance was hilarious! i suppose its got better since but its usually a choice of metallica or korn. i mean the other year king diamond got nominated, not that theres anything wrong with KD but it just feels like ‘lets just pick the usual suspects and throw in someone random’ i think motorhead won it for a metallica cover too!

dont get me wrong i love metallica, ac/dc, motorhead, judas priest etc but its always the well known bands. there’s better metal and hard rock out there than what those bands have released recently

as for nickelback and linkin park, i suppose to the mainstream that is hard rock but god knows how many better bands there are without the media exposure! i want to see bands like viking skull, turbonegro and fu manchu get nominated (as long as they have new music out obviously!)

I must recognize that AC/DC is better than some who call themselves: Jethro Tull!

I do not think Priest should’ve have been on the list, no disrespect to them but they are far more relevant bands still making good and exciting music i.e. megadeth, lamb of god.

Dissident Aggressor was made in the late 70’s, so it being on a live album released in present time shouldn’t make it eligible.

Mustaine should be happy with this record he made! 8 nominations and no win! Of course Grammys is politically more sensitive than Grannys.

Dave should learn to become politically correct. It is easy. Just repeat the accepted common opinions of your time AND NOT BEFORE ITS TIME.

Such as war in Iraq was bad[Holy Wars ... ]. But Iran we do not know yet[Never Walk Alone ...]. Global warming is uncool[Dawn Patrol]. The world is such a wonderful place etc.

When talks will to Megadeth, I suppose it’s appropriate to say that Mustaine should reinvent himself. Nowadays the risk to put a record out, it’s too high.
