going to the Golden Gods straight from Download was amazing! Airbourne are sooo good live! Loved every second of it and Steel Panther’s new single and hosting was epic!

I should know, I saw Napalm Death, Rolo Tomassi and Devil Sold His Soul at download, and they all blew bullet out of the water.

unsurprisingly some very poor decisions, I agree with Immortal, Zakk Wylde, Evile, Christopher Lee, Heaven and Hell, and Mike Portnoy all winning but the rest are very uninspired and were easy to predict. Bloodstock should alway win best event cos its not full of twats.

The thing with Mike Portnoy, i’d say many see’s him as “the best” but how do you calculate that?
imo. i think Danny Carey does it better, and plays more complex parts

HMS Splatter and the Golden Gods show was one of the most unique gigs i will ever go to, absolutely fuckin loved every minute of it!!! I thought the pits were a bit tame but i sure am hurtin today tho! Highlight was definitly singing into Chad Grays (hellyeah) microphone as he leaned out into the crowd!!! But i saw numerous amounts of cameras about the place and i want to know were i can see the footage??? Internet or TV?? And Where?? !..!. .!..!

Awesome, awesome night. Christopher Lee ist krieg! Skindred totally owned it on stage. They should have probably won best UK band as well.

It would have been nice to see woman in Metal represented in any way other than either in underwear and/or in a cage. There were no woman at time point on stage who were playing instruments, accepting or giving awards unless they were strippers. The combination of Steel Panther’s sexist jokes, albeit on occasion very funny and the lack of any women of power and substance started to wear a little thin after a while.

I felt a little sad that the evening didn’t include a more positive view on woman in Metal.

seeing christopher lee, tony iommi and airbourne was awesome. christopher lee is one of the finest actors ever and now he’s into heavy metal.
joe perry deserved his award, he was top notch at his solo gig at the 100 club

two best guitarists awards, best drummer but no best bassist?

as much as I love Machine Head, and will agree they are a great live band, there’s no way they’re better than Rammstein or Kiss. Or Airbourne.
