Kid Rock On ‘Cocky’
Talking to MTV News, Rock said the reason the follow up to his 1998 breakthrough album, ‘Devil Without A Cause’, has taken so long to surface is down to: “Girls, money and trying to raise my son.”
“It gets a little crazy and the world’s a big place,” continued the American Badass. “There’s a lot of touring to do. I would rather be a family man than a musician, but being a musician pays the bills so this is what I do, and I have to make time with the family no matter what. It’s always a balance, life’s a balance.”
Kid Rock has also stated that he and his Twisted Brown Trucker band are itching to get back on the road and will begin to tour the record early next year.
“I’d like to keep ticket prices low,” Rock said. “There are a lot of bands out here that have had a lot of success and it just seems ridiculous that they want to jack ticket prices up to what they are. I think it’s asinine. People work very hard for their money and if they want to come out and see a show, they shouldn’t have to spend 100 bucks on a ticket so I’m going to try to go out and give the best show possible for the lowest amount of money I can, while we can still make our money as rock stars with habits and lifestyles that we have to uphold.”
‘Cocky’ hits stores on 28th January 2002 through Eastwest.
