Killswitch Engage Joined By Original Vocalist Jesse Leach In NYC
As was heavily rumoured, Killswitch Engage were last night joined by original vocalist Jesse Leach at their show in New York. Video footage inside!
Ever since it was first revealed that Howard Jones would be forced off of the road for Killswitch’s entire US tour, it was rumoured that the band’s shows at Irving Plaza in New York would see the return of original frontman Jesse Leach. Last night, this rumour became reality.
While All That Remains man Phil Labonte continued his stint on vocals for all of the songs KsE have recorded with Howard Jones, Leach hit the stage to join the band for ‘My Last Serenade’, ‘Numbered Days’, ‘Self Revolution’, ‘Vide Infra’ and ‘Temple from the Within’. He returned with the original KsE line-up (Adam D on drums, Joel on guitar, MikeD on bass, Jesse on vocals) to play ‘prelude’, ‘Life to Lifeless’, and ‘Fixation on the Darkness’.
Check out the photos and a brief report here and video footage of Jesse powering through ‘My Last Serenade’ below.

That would be an amazing night.
jesus fucking christ just get jesse back in the band full time now!
shame the sound is shit
fuck fuck fuck. i couldve gone but decieded not to at the last second i coulda got tickets. fuck me
Love the cameramans expression, looks a bit worried.
And there was a reason they got rid of Jesse, he wasn’t that reliable as a frontman, for whatever reason. Once Howard is sorted with whatever his probs is he will be back!

wow. My favourite killswitch song with the original vocalist- awesome
class about time too long live jesse
@chris/harry
jesse left because he developed polyps on his vocal chords and couldn’t risk using aggressive vocals for fear of losing his voice permanently.
jesse was and always will be killswitch engage’s best vocalist and this video shows it again.
no disrespect to howard, infact the BHBS album ’spirals’ has been a favourite for years, but jesse makes him look like a terrible vocalist (which he isn’t but you get my point)
The Teeth Of Gods, jesse also got severely depressed on the road, and when he went on stage he didn’t sing right by using the technique many vocalists use to keep their voices in better condition while on long tours. He would just go scream his ass off and do nothing to sooth his throat or anything. Adam said he used nothing but raw emotion and sometimes breakdown in between songs or during them. Which led to the polyps as you mentioned.
Fucking awesome!
If only he was still in Killswitch..
Alive or just Breathing has to be in my top 5 albums of last decade.
