Led Zeppelin To Record New Album

John Paul Jones has spoken to BBC Radio about Led Zeppelin’s future plans and it would seem that a new album is in the works as well as a new tour.

It would seem as though original frontman Robert Plant is not going to be part of the band’s future plans but bassist John Paul Jones has confirmed rumours that Zeppelin have been having regular rehearsals and are planning something big for the near future.

After confirming that “a couple” of singers have tried out for the band, JPJ went on to say “”We want to do it. It’s sounding great and we want to get on and get out there.”

On the subject of a new vocalist for the band, Jones said “”It’s got to be right. There’s no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don’t want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be on board.”

noooooo this is rubbish! They will charge upwards of £60 im sure for tickets and what is this band now? It is a tribute to themselves, i dont wanna hear new stuff i wanna hear the classics – fucking no idea why they are bothering with this

maybe cause they dont care what you think?
go the zep

without plant it is not led zeppelin.

I am all for it. So long as they don’t call them Led Zeppelin, unless Page is involved.

Meant to say Plant not Page :P

They have just made a joke out of themselves. They shoud do the decent thing and change their name to JPJ and Page, (just like Plant and Page did years ago). I’ll keep my money and just put on a cd if I want to hear Zep. Queen + Paul Rogers is another joke. They should have came up with another name as well. What’s next, Paul and Ringo going on the road as The Beatles.

I think that a tour would be okay, so long as they got a decent singer. But I think they’d need Robert to do an album.
