Led Zeppelin Will Find A New Singer
Jimmy Page’s manager Peter Mensch has confirmed that Led Zeppelin will find themselves a new lead singer this year.After Plant confirmed that he would not be taking part in any further Led Zeppelin endeavours and will allegedly be recording with Alsion Krauss again this month, rumours have continued to swill that the remaining members of Led Zep will push on with touring without their former singer (though it remains to be seen whether or not they will use the name Led Zeppelin).
In the latest twist in the tale, Jimmy Page’s manager Peter Mensch has told 6Music “”Jimmy Page has been playing guitar professionally since he was 16 years old. Jimmy Page likes being a musician. That’s what he does! He doesn’t want to be a race car driver or a solicitor.”
“So they did the show with Robert Plant; they had a really good time rehearsing, the three of them, before Robert showed up.”
“And they decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit their bill – whatever their bill was at this stage in their career – that they’d make a record and go on tour.”
“John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page enjoy playing with each other, Jason Bonham is a really good drummer so why not? We just need to find a singer.”

Shame Plant doesn’t want to do anything… unless they are going to surprise us at the last minute and he’ll team up with the rest of the guys again. I think, though, that Led Zep would have to get someone pretty damn good to replace him , like Dio or Russell Allen, otherwise it wouldn’t work.
plant isn’t doing it for good reason. plant happily said to them “gimme a few years and i will, just let me do this stuff with this other band” but the rest of the dicks were like “no lets do it now while all the kids still like us and make lots of money”
yet another band to do this. i wish all those old bands like metallica, led zep, kiss etc would just give up and let new music have its chance instead of releasing crap that just barely gets by because people still like their old stuff
find a singer .. the truth is – after the 4th album zep sucked . retire

I hope not. It’s not like ‘Chains – the singer is actually still alive! Funny how Plant suddenly gains recognition now that he’s left Led Zep! Nice to know it’s not all about Page anymore.
…And now he changed his mind. I read last night that Mensch is “tired of everyone talking about a reunion, because there won’t be any”. He’s an indecisive fella isn’t he?
I agree with what most of you say and i know we are all Zep fans. However if you get a chance to see Page and Jones together doing Zep songs it will be cool. Its not Led Zeppelin, it never will be, as John Bonham the GOD OF ROCK DRUMS, is no longer with us. If you feel that strongly don’t get a ticket but il tell you one thing im going for it. Everyone knows that they want to make money from this, who cares. I just want to see Jimmy and Jones both Class Musicians in there own right.
I can disagree on just Dio or Russel Allen…..I would love to see Audioslave/Soundgarden/Temple Of The Dog’s Frontman Chris Cornell or Nirvana’s Drummer and Foo Fighters Frontman Dave Grohl join the mix and create another really incredible superband…yeah that might sound wierd but most of us know that is a HUGE powerhouse and would be really sick!!
