Machine Head: Phil Demmel collapses
The Bay Area’s (second) favourite set of sons have been forced to cancel their remaining two performances on the Slipknot tour in Antwerp and Luxembourg, in the wake of guitarist Phil Demmel collapsing onstage again during Machine Head’s second-to-last song Friday night in Sheffield, England. Bassist Adam Duce says…
“After considering the seriousness of Phil’s health condition, we all feel that skipping these last two shows is the best thing to do. It’s a bummer to end this tour like this after doing nine amazing weeks and three continents with Slipknot, but getting Phil back to the States to get checked out is the most important thing right now. Our sincerest thanks to Slipknot and Children of Bodom for their support and understanding, we understand that it’s a big disappointment to the fans, and Phil is very sorry about it, but we all feel that his health and safety is most important at this time.” Machine Head plan to resume touring Wednesday in Los Angeles for the first of two Metallica shows at The Forum.

I was there, it was so wierd, the gig was going ace, then Phil was being carried off. The rest of the gig was superb though. MH did Imperium and Halo absolutely fantastic.
Sad to hear about the poor sod, and I know fans at the last couple of shows will be disappointed. However, I doubt anyone will complain about the decision made – it’s definitely the right one.

OMG i was there too he was in the middle of the guitar solo in Halo n i thought he was getting right into it n then all of a sudden adam drops his bass n runs over to him then bout 5 ppl ran on stage n carried him off. Anyway get well soon Phil keep on rockin !!

I was @ the concert he colapse @ I was well disapointed because they couldn’t continue but I was happy when Cory Tailor from slipknot told me he was ok.
