machinehead90Are the mighty Machine Head heading our way in February 2010? Message boards and ticket sites seem to believe so!

Machine Head are alleged to be playing the following dates in 2010:

February 16 – Plymouth, Pavilions
February 18 – Brixton Academy
February 21 – Birmingham Academy
February 26 – Manchester Apollo

More dates are expected to follow. We’ll let you know as soon as we find out anything more.

Meh. I lost a lot of respect for them over the whole Sonisphere debacle and the fact that they’ve been getting progressively worse each of the 7 times I’ve seen them over the last couple of years, means that unless I want to see the support, I won’t be lining their pockets.

For a magazine that “has it’s finger on the pulse”,you guys are pretty slow. This was all over the ‘net thursday night. I’ll be going to at least one date. Machine Head are always an amazing live band

*crosses fingers for a Newcastle Date!!!* ^_^

noobpotato

Hopefully theres more dates

Shit, why no date in Southampton or Portsmouth!?

They were awesome at sonisphere- i never thought they’d ever let fans down they are too serious about their art- I’ll be first in the queue!!!!! Machine F Head!!!!!

Birmingham Academy?
Academy?

Shit, I am so there. The last few times I’ve seen Machine Head it was at a festival or the NEC. This will seem positively intimate in comparison

John – they were bloody awful at both Metallica O2 shows!

Aww come on, is Ireland being ignored yet again??

Robertorock

Machine head are the best band out there at the mo… Notts or Leeds please!!

Don’t forget Scotland!
Surprised they’re still touring The Blackening actually, soem new material would be appreciated.
But then again, how in the name of Christ are they possibly gonna top The Blackening!? xD

February 21st at the Brum Academy? Awesome, that’s close to me and three days before my birthday XD.

FUCKIN YES, manchester Apollo here i come, BOOM!

PLYMOUTH PAVILIONS?!?!

Finally someones taking notice of the south west!

Won’t have to travel to London to see them for a 4th time now ;)

Mackem Metaller

I read somewhere theres still 5 or 6 more shows to be announced, forgot where i saw it though

tickets are like £25

Johnny Buc

Why not bring a new album out instead! I’ve seen them on three tours promoting The Blackening and the last time the band seemed half arsed on the Metallica tour!!!

Anyway Through The Ashes Of Empires was a far better album than The Blackening!!!

That’s the album they have to top!!!

I would actaully cry if they came to aberdeen

Superhans

i think they’ll have bizkit as co-headliners and they’ll all live happily ever after haha

Robertorock

£25 I’d still be going if they were £50!

Luke Tite

PLEASE COME TO NORWICH

Do a new cd already the last 2 sucked

They can play in my back garden for a warm up if they like ! Fuck the neighbours

nailman

ruffneck

HAHAHAH FUK YEAH!!!!!

ol' john boy

PLAY PORTSMOUTH SO I DONT HAVE DRIVE A MILLION MILES TO SEE A DECENT GIG.

newcastle weekend gig if possible. then ill actually be able to go to a gig for once

They dont seem update metal hammer site over the weekends… i wanna see them in manchester so hope it is true prob get some decent support as well like lamb of god or the X factor finalists

Theres plans for a ten date tour from wat iv heard.. Altho it was hearsay, ppl i no who no booking agents say theres ten dates planned.. and considering the sporadic nature of the dates and venues announced, it will be just that.. I will be travelling if this doesn come to ireland, may be the last time machine head headline in a relatively small venue..

Oh they better come to Ireland

Why does everyone always forget about us?

=/

I’d rather they went away and worked on a new album. They’ve been touring The Blackening for about 300yrs now so it’s time to move on.

Saitenhexerin

I’ll be there…although that means flying in from Austria, as I’ll be back by then. But I don’t care…^^ It’s Machine Fuckin Head!

Ruffneck, you’re a moron. It is simple fact that they’ve gotten worse. Their sets are worse, their energy is worse, they don’t put on a show and their sound is terrible. I can’t comment on them at Sonisphere because I refused to watch them after their pathetic antics.

MaxDamagus

This would be most excellent.
Anyone who says Machine Head have gotten ‘worse’ is an imbecile who needs to give The Blackening another listen. They’ve never been so vital. One thing I’ll say is that studio wise, they lack the simpler ‘CRUSH EVERYTHING’ sound that older albums had, but they perform them BETTER live, now.. they danced like hip-hop plums in the old days and have matured just nicely. Cannot wait to see them live again, old great bands seem to all have a St.Anger moment (Supercharger) – but they’re on top of their game again.. fuck the past, a band’s as good as their live show.

yeah i would much rather they record a new album THEN go on tour, dont think i could stomach another machine head gig at the mo

Come on, give us a Cardiff date!

The Mark of Zur-En-Arrh

I have no respect for Flynn anymore, so fuck paying to watch the same thing yet again. ‘Blackening’ wasn’t good imo, ‘Ashes….’ is still their best.

Max – it’s clearly you who’s the imbecile because you clearly can’t read and comprehend. At no point did I pass judgement on the albums. And using the “never been so vital” is such a shit cliche. They’re still loved live because of the songs, not the performances, not the sound, not the show, not the atmosphere, but the songs. There’s no performance, they just play the songs. Flynn even says the same fucking things every show! Like I’ve said, i’ve seen them live 7 times in the last 2 years and various other times since ‘95 so I speak as a fan. How many more tours will the do to support The Blackening?!

And finally, aside from the production, there’s nothing wrong with St Anger that isn’t solved by an open mind.

I agree with Me above, St Anger is a quality album!!!

robbie-lee

MACHINE-FUCKING-HEAD are the best fucking band so stop talking shit about them you don’t now what your talking about…..so see you at Birmingham MACHINE-FUCKING-HEAD!!!!!

lol, intelligent response robbie-lee

Me has a perfectly valid point i think.
It is completely true, same sets and same crowd speeches. People like ‘robbie-lee’ above seem like the average mcr fan and talk mindlessly, denying the facts.

Lewis@Hammer

I’ve seen Machine Head live some 8 or 9 times now and I don’t think they’ve gotten worse at all. Sonisphere’s set was awesome, all the old stuff with some new. Yeah I’d take anew album now, but hell I’ll see them live any day of the week.

Ian McWilliams

I doubt Ireland will be left out. Machine Head didn’t bring the Black Crusade tour or the tour with Slipknot to Dublin because the O2 wasn’t ready yet. They played Dublin in 2007. The Irish gave Machine Head their 1st positive reaction when they played with Slayer in 1995 I am sure they will hit Dublin in hopfully the O2 as I would fucking love to see them live.

Lewis – I completely accept your statement there. I didn’t see them at Sonisphere as my friends and I boycotted them due to their prima donna-ness. We were fully aware that very few others did the same and that Robb et al couldn’t care less, but it was something we felt we had to do. Therefore I can’t comment on that set, though hearing them play Old for the first time in a while was great. Of those 8 or 9 times, what’s the spread over the last few years?

To Me- they were brilliant when they supported slipknot at Hammersmith- the sound engineering was fucked at the 2nd O2 show and they were awesome at sonisphere. The person i was with at the O2 has done sound engineering and said that MfH were stitched up. I can’t wait personally. They may even have new stuff up their sleeves!!!!!

robbie-lee

calling me a “MCR FAN” was low but i suppose your one of those Limp bizkit fans who worship talentless picks and as one of metal hammers question polls said FUNERAL-FOR-FRED-DURST but i do agree that Through the Ashes of Empires is their best album……MACHINE-FUCKING-HEAD!!!!!

Vazzer – I went to the first show at Hammersmith and didn’t think there was any show, any interaction and the sound didn’t blow me away. To me now, they seem like a band just going through the motions rather than truly enjoying it. Perhaps the problem is that I expect more from them, having seen them so much better.

Did your mate explain how they’d been stitched up, because it did seem odd that they sounded so bad, yet Metallica sounded spot on, as did all of the other shows I’ve seen there?

Lewis@Hammer

The spread has been quite good. First saw them on The More Things Change tour right up to recently. Personally i think they still put on one of the best live shows around.

Lewis – ok and when you completely put your enjoyment based upon loving the songs to one side, can you truly say they put on a good show? If you didn’t like the songs, would you still feel the same way? I’m not going to tell you you’re right or wrong because that would not only be arrogant and impossible for me to know, but it’s my opinion that a lot of people are loving their live shows based upon how much they love the songs and how insane the pits are.

Wow. A decent band is actually coming to plymouth? Looks like i’ll be there :D

please please have a newcastle date or i wont be happy!

Kick ass!!! if this is actually confirmed and when the tickets go on sale i will def be hitting up the plymouth show!!!!! need more metal down the south west!!!

come on machine head come to cardiff. please. if they arent in cardiff ill go down to plymouth. machine head kicks arse.

Are they opening for Limp Bizkit?

I’m with Lewis and robbie-lee- Machine head can do no wrong- I’m sure Robb Flynn mentioned a new album at sonisphere- their contribution to the genre is immense.

pray to god come to fucking newcastle :)

Velocity is a faggot

Lots of people are suggesting that it would be better for Machine Head to make a new album rather than tour The Blackening. That’s crazy! They have been touring off the back of it for a while, yes, but there has been no UK headlining tour in support of it as yet and it would be insane to not bother doing one.

Stop fuckint touring and write a fucking album.

The sinister minister

Hatebreed as support..get the hell in x

Seen Machine Head in Dublin in 1994 on the Burn my Eyes Tour . Awesome. Seen them with metallica and Mastodon in Wembley in 2007. Even better then . Can’t wait to see them in 2010.
