Marilyn Manson Setlist

jamesgill / Gigs, News / 10/12/2009 12:02pm

manson90We were at Marilyn Manson’s Brixton show, here’s what songs he played.

Read who Manson’s back in love with.
Throughout the set he is back-lit and bathed in smog, his trademark costumes have been toned-down to almost turned-off and his stage theatrics are limited to taking oxygen, knocking over the mic stand and throwing head-towels into the audience. Metal shows should make you feel extreme, whether extremely positive or extremely negative comes down to the band and who good/bad they were, and surely being left numb is a bad thing. As such Manson’s show is neither car-crash bad nor touch-yourself good. That said the Manson is as divisive as ever, and while he leaves many in the audience lukewarm, most are sweating in post-cathartic ecstasy. So what does tonight’s second show have in store? Watch this space…

Read Manson’s interview on the choice of songs for the setlist.

I thought it was a great show, gutted they didnt play Vampire (which was on the crews printed setlist).

Wish I was going again tonight!

it’s a shame that he’s so inconsistent, cos when he’s on fire he’s fantastic, but he can be so shite i just couldn’t bring myself to part with the cash on the off chance he’d be good this time around

chris is a FAG and he best ply fight song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

differentCHRiS

dont care? dont look, simple.

God is in the TV? not Rock Is Dead

i absolutly wanna see him in manchester

Last night’s show was very good. His voice was a bit ropey, but the setlist had good momentum and he was still very entertaining despite the no-bullshit approach in terms of theatrics.

God is in the TV is most likely ‘Astonishing Panorama Of The End Times’, as featured on The Last Tour On Earth :)
Completely agree with H666, but tbh I’m still desperate to see ‘em before it’s too late.

why does he never seem to play arma-god-damn-mother-fuckin-geddon?

runaway train :D

saw marilyn mason in brixton, it was freaking amazing, marilyn manson is sexy as fuck

“chris is a FAG and he best ply fight song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

I was massively disappointed by last night’s gig.

He sounded good, but there was no ’show’ and he was just a prick.

went to see him last night and was as ever still totally blown away. Even though his costumes etc have all calmed down, it seemed much more intimate due to it being such a small venue which more than made up for it.

I’m personally not bothered about stage show when you can get that up close and personal with the God of Fuck himself.

Happy happy….

That was the worst gig i have ever been to at brixton. He refused to most of his best songs. The security at brixton have suceeded in destroying all of the atmosphere at the place. Terrible set list could not see anything for most of the gig.

saw him last night, incredible!!

i was there on the second day and it was fantastic! even without all the more crazy stunts he still knows how to work a crowd.

“God is in the TV” was Rock is Dead.

Anyone know what the song was at the beginning? The blues one that said “I’m a child” or something like that.

Saw him in Brixton on the second night and he was total shit. Well past it now.

Worst Manson show I’ve ever seen..he was clearly off his head, didn’t play an encore, didn’t do any trademark theatrics..was slurring his words..used lines he’d used in his 98/99 tours and was generally bad and I’m a big fan

i went both dates and was blown away both times…not much in the way of props on stage but he was on top form!! i broke on of my ribs the second night on the barrier but even so one of the best manson performances ive seen! also caught his towel! woohoo! i think that makes up for my broken rib lol

saw him the second night @ brixton and i thought on the whole it was fantastic, wasn’t perfect but you’re never gonna get that with a manson show. was chuffed they opened with CIS tho there were some big omissions i.e. tourniquet was really missed + lunchbox, the new shit etc and couldn’t believe they didn’t play we’re from america. dodgy new material like 4 rusted horses would NOT have been missed and he could’ve definitely done with being less out of it and the whole “we hate love, we love hate” schtick is well passed it’s sell by date but on the whole….he’s one of the best live acts around & i love him more than ever!

Wow! i actually thought he was amazing at b’ham o2!! 2bf i was kinda thinkin okay, after all the bad reviews he’s been gettin he may be shit but was totally the opposite!! i wont explain as u jus had 2 be there! yes..he is losin his touch..but maybe now he has been dropped frm his record company maybe this will be a wake up call 2 write some good shit n perform like a muthafucker the way he used 2 back then!! we live in hope!!

Probably the worst performance i have ever seen at brixton. Was really looking forward to it but if you dont play your best songs you are allways going to stuggle. I have seen some great bands play here but everyone seems to be more interested in recording it on their new phone. No crowd surfing, No sitting on peoples shoulders just stand there and record some shit that you can play to your friends on facebook. To think of the bands which have played brixton.
