you want a song about sex and drugs?

Youre the kind of shit manson is against ffs.
He’s used that topic!
If you dont like this “shit”
you were never into him you dickheads.

Fuck all of you.
Not heavy enough?
Fuck that shit!
Listen to Blank and White?
And get a life
And a girlfriend!

Manson got me out of my depression years ago!
And this is exacly what I expected him to give!

Wow Matthew I think you need to relax mate.
Its just people’s opinions.
Everyone is entitled to them. I am pleased that music helped get you out of your depression but that doesn’t give you the right to slag people off just because they didn’t like what they heard.

I thought is was “meh”. In my opinion Mr Warner has made a great album since Antichrist Superstar. Just my opinion so don’t shoot me down. People are not looking for the heaviest band out there they just remember when Manson used to pull much better stuff out of the bag.

That was supposed to be hasn’t made a good album sine Anti…..

i bought the new album on monday and thought it was a return 2 form…yes they are not gona shock the whole world anymore…people jus have to take the songs for what their worth….some good rockin industrial metal anthems…as for u matthem fern….yes people are passionate about certain artists and yes some artists help people through dark times…but u dnt have 2 start abusing everyone by callin them dickheads…this place is about opinions

ma666ot

manson con un nuevo albuen copado… espero que sea tan bueno como los anteriores…

Well, it think this album, is fantastic… Okay granted, it’s not as heavy as antichrist, An it contains very little shock… But honestly, i think it sounds like a good old classic rock album, with manson influences all over it… I mean, okay… It’s not gonna be for the mosh pit… But its certainly a return to form, for manson. He actually sounds like here cares again, Much better than Eat Me, Drink Me, An you can certainly see twiggy’s back the songs have his influence everywhere, I’m really liking this album, I Want To Kill You Like They Do In The Movies, is 9 minutes of complete fucked up!!! =)

Welcome Back Mr Manson….

(Please No more Golden Ages Or Eat Me Drink Me’s, not that they were notoriusly bad, just not you)

noobpotato

Matthew fern stop being so pathetic and shut the fuck up

what annoys me is that everyone is expecting Manson to release a heavy album, or a shocking album. Hello? this is 2009 not the 90’s and Manson has moved on. And tbh I dont know where everyone gets this crap of Manson once being heavy, he was never really heavy? Antichrist Superstar everyone claims is a heavy metal album, thers about what? 3-4 heavy songs on that album.

Manson changes his style in every album he releases, and I dont care what other people think, I think there all masterpieces (AND YES that includes the much hated Eat Me, Drink Me)

Mr Fern – what we want is the old stompy beats, the venom in his lyrics – not 90mins of whine whine whine whine whine – im a fan of Manson’s and ill say now that he’s lost whatever talent he had – its a sad time

will mate….i totally agree….apart from the eat me drink me bit lol

It is really, really poor. I must be honest – I liked _at least_ something if not everything from all of mansons albums before Eat Me Drink Me. Now, obviously my high hopes for that album were shattered as alot of yours probably were so my expectations for this were very low. Its better than i expected, but manson died after Golden Age. Or at least, the mason we new who actually warranted mention in a METAL publication. Looks like Kerrang! will be in charge of marketing this one…shame…but dont give up – go see him live. All the songs from the past two albums sound better and he still plays the classics. To quote Monty Python (sort of) – Hes not dead, he’s merely resting – hes old the poor bugger.

buggered

Theres such a range of styles with the heavy and light here, that this album really doesnt have an overall feel of its own. There doesnt seem to be much of an overall theme or story, unlike before. Many of the songs have a very 80s tone, clapping here and there to go along with the music, with the exception of tracks such as “Into The Fire” which is an obvious parody/rip off of Oasis, but blame the guitarist! Its done well, but if you read the inlay, most of the music was likely to be actually written by the producer Chris Vrenna, and not twiggy at all, who generally sticks to the bass guitar.

You can tell Vrenna is partly to blame for the change in style throughout-apart from the obvious heavier tracks which no doubt have more Twiggy guitar input (armagoddamnmotherf******ggeddon etc) this really doesnt feel like a Manson album at all. Another noticable change is that even the lyrics have been simplified alot more than usual, and he’s not trying to be too clever for once-no big words here to confuse young rockers, lol. Its an ok album, arguably better than the last, but it definately needed to be given a few trimmings here and there… nothing like any of the previous albums for the most part, many fans will no doubt even prefer the last one to this new output- so a try before you buy. If you dont like Manson when he tries to back down with slower tracks and attempt to sing slowly/more emotionally then beware, as it accounts for around 50% (thats HALF, maths students) of what youll hear on this album! I reckon the rock magazines (or music mags in general) are going to be arguing on whether this album is much cop. The heavier rock mags will be mostly 5/10, indie mags 7/10 (at the most)!

Michael

People say he’s moved on? it’s not always a good thing. I liked him for what he was and not what he is now. I think he should have stuck to his guns instead of this. I was never one to concentrate on the lyrics of a song and explore meaning. That isn’t the music part to me. He can write the greatest poem in the world but if i think the music to go with it is shit, it aint worth listening to. Okay so he wasn’t always heavy before anyway, but it was more dynamic and creative than this.

Er what the hell is that idiot talking about saying Manson is against Sex & Drugs? He’s a alcoholic cokehead who’s going out with a porn star. Half the songs on Golden Age are about shagging, and half of Mechnical Animals is about drugs

“I don’t like the drugs but the drugls like me” =)
