Mastodon’s ‘Crack The Skye’ exclusive behind-the-scenes recording footage has been made available online.

Mastodon began recording on June 19th, and MetalKult’s Jimmy Hubbard (also the photo editor at Guitar World and Revolver Magazines) was invited by the band to travel to Atlanta to film and document the recording of ‘Crack The Skye’. Hubbard then cut this footage into a DVD that will be released with deluxe versions of ‘Crack The Skye’. As a preview for that DVD, Hubbard put together a 10-part behind-the-scenes web series documenting the recording of the album.

The album will arrive in stores on March 24th through Reprise/Warner.

Sonisphere will be headlined by Metallica and Linkin Park and will take place on August 1st – 2nd at Knebworth. Also on the bill will be Nine Inch Nails, Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Alice In Chains, Mastodon, Anthrax, Airbourne, Thin Lizzy, Killing Joke and The Sword.
