Maynard James Keenan In Jason Statham Movie

It’s not the most obvious of combinations, is it?

Both Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington appear, albeit in minor roles, in the soon to be released Jason Statham movie, ‘Crank 2: High Voltage’.

Bennington – who also appeared in the first instalment – is set to reprise his role, popping up in a “Bizarre, High friction encounter” with Statham’s character, at a Horse racing track.

Meanwhile, Keenan takes on the challenging role of a dog walker who has an “electrifying encounter” with Statham in a public car park.

Also rearing his head for a cameo appearance in the action/comedy is former NIN guitarist, Danny Lohner, as Keenen’s ‘partner’.

In other ‘Crank 2’ news, directors Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine also enlisted Mr. Bungle/Fantomas/Peeping Tom and – recently reformed – Faith No More frontman Mike Patton to produce the films soundtrack.

“’Crank’ is a straight punk rock experience,” say the directors

Linkin Park are currently gearing up for their headline slot at Sonisphere. Get Sonisphere tickets here.
