Metal Hammer Curates Nordic Metal Night In London
Scandinavian metallers Vreid, Solstafir and Thunderstone are all to play the Lexington in London, as part of Hammer’s ongoing ambitions to represent metal from all corners of the globe.
Metal Hammer editor Alexander Milas will be curating a special night for Ja Ja Ja, showcasing some of the finest metal talent Scandinavia has to offer.
“I aimed for three bands who I think are very representative of their respective countries,” said Milas. “I’m a longtime fan of Windir and so Vreid, who have former members from that band, were a shoe-in. Thunderstone sound absolutely brilliant so selfishly speaking, I wanted to hear that power metal live and see if they can pull it off, and Solstafir blew my mind at the Purple Turtle in London not long ago so I absolutely had to have them in.”
The show will take place at the Lexington on Thursday April 15th from 7pm and will feature a DJ set from Hammer editor Alexander Milas and the Metal Hammer team from 10:15pm. Get full details and tickets here!
Metal Hammer are continuing to support metal from around the world with events like this and the Planet Metal cd (15 tracks from 15 amazing bands that you’ve never heard before) and accompanying 16 page mini-mag that you can find in the new issue of Metal Hammer magazine. Including bands from China, Iran and India to South America, South Africa and South Korea, this will blow your mind!

Thunderstone bass player Titus Hjelm is a lecturer in Finnish Society and Culture at University College London: he no doubt supports this wholeheartedly.

Good. Vried finished off Hammerfest in style- all the Scandinavian bands this year and last year were ace!
