There are three nights, and 2 announced headliners for Main Stage being Maiden and Rammstein, and 2 for Bohemia being Gallows and Funeral For A Friend. Are there still two headliners to be announced for these stages or is Alice Cooper headlining his day on Main Stage and someone already named to be headling Bohemia?

Also, why were the only coach travel options from National Express to travel on Friday morning, meaning we run the risk of missing opening acts? We used them last year and were able to travel on Thursday….?

When will we know who is playing which day? Last year’s posters etc had this advertised well ahead of the festival?

What influenced the decision for heavy headliners and a light undercard? I think alot of were expecting a heavy lineup again, HOWEVER this year is brilliant with bands such as Therapy? Delain, Lacuna coil e.t.c being booked as well as the headliners.

With Sonisphere an eclectic rock/metal festival is there any temptation to bring in an extreme band what with Immortal for example doing the festival rounds?

Last year there was a barrier around the main stage for the pit. If you didn’t arrive early, you could’nt get in the pit. Coz of this I missed out in getting in the Lamb of God pit – EPIC FAIL!! Why is there a barrier???

how do you decide which bands fill the mainstage slots and which go in the tent, is it due to public response i.e. people wanting gallows to be in the tent as their well known for putting on an astonishing show in tents/small venues or just your own personal opinion!

How much of a 3 day fest is it going to be this year? will Alice Cooper be playing in a tent on the first night or a stage? And will many other bands play that afternoon as well?

Will you be considering extending the festival to 3 full days next year as you almost have this year? Also if you do extent to 3 full headliners will this have implications on the price? As already the tickets are almost the same price as Download.

The main message with sonisphere was quality over quantity which i personally felt was definetly achieved last year. However with so many bands and stages at the fest this year (maybe even rivalling download in terms of the amount) do you still feel you’ve stood by that original statement?

everyone always talks about there being a competition between download and sonisphere to see which ones better. I’ve never thought of it that way and do you care about being competitive or even trying to be?

2nd question – are you more bothered about making a decent touring european festival instead of just focusing on the UK?

Which audience are you appealing towards considering you have a fair few classic acts (Iggy pop, Alice cooper etc) but a bunch of modern ones aswell (Bring me the Horizon, Gallows etc) Don’t you think this might put some people off going to the festival if people love Iggy Pop but hate newer bands like Gallows

Firstly can I say, you guys are doing an awesome job booking bands and organising the festival, keep up the good work. Anyway, onto my question:

How hard was it to get MACHINE FUCKING HEAD back onto the line up last year??

do you think acts who have played for a second year in a row (anthrax, alice in chains) lose their appeal or do you think their a safe bet due to the crowds they drew in last time?

With the demise of the old style music industry, it seems a new paradigm is emerging with live events at its core. This brings artists and fans much closer together evidently helped by the numerous online channels available to get feedback and interact. The positives are: its eroding the cult of celebrity and allowing a dialogue and collaboration between artists and fans. Do you think this will prove a viable way for artists to make a living long term and how do you see the role of music festivals evolving to support such a shift?

I’m pretty sure a lot of people would agree with me when I say that last years lineup was a hell of a lot better than this years, with bands such as Machine Head, Lamb of God, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, BFMV… Why is it that this year we have Family Force 5 and Bring Me The Horizon..?

Is it fair to say a couple of the bands on the bill don’t make any sense? If I was a Family Force 5 fan who else on the bill would I want to see? Same with Placebo and Pendulum? Seems like a lot of bands on there are taking up a mainstage place of a band who deserve it more.

Why were pendulum chosen as Maiden’s special guests? Usuall special guests are a band that are from the same time as the band they are opening for. For instance Kiss’s special guests at Download 2008 were Judas Priest. Pendulum have been around only since the start of the century. And they are not exactly a heavy metal band like maiden are. What made you choose them?

Can you please put Municipal Waste in the bohemia tent after rammstein or maiden? They would rip that tent to pieces!

1)It came across (to me anyway given all the european advertising) that Sonisphere Festivals would be a festival bill headlined/include Metallica throughout europe including the UK each year. Obviously for the UK, Spain, Sweden and Finland this year, this is not the case. Was this always the plan or did it just work out that way this time around?

2)I’ve read and heard many thoughts about the set up / layout for the festival last year. Are there any notable differences this year? And if so, why were these changes made?

3)re: the Poland ticket offer,
You obviously gave many people this opportunity the chance to go to Poland because the Big 4 wasn’t going to happen in the UK. Can you give us any indication as to how many people accepted the offer, and were you surprised at the number of people who took up the offer?

4)Are you aware of any special plans from any of the bands on the bill. Possibly a tribute to Dio or an album being played in it’s entirety?

5)At download this year, Andy Copping said that the reason for the lack of bands on the Friday is because of the amount of production involved in the AC/DC slot. Obviously, Rammstein are known for their production, so is what they have planned (or anyone else) going to affect Sonisphere in any way?

I’ve been to many European festivals and the one of the things that grinds my gears is that you charge 20 quid to park a fucking car when the European festivals include this in the ticket price. And still manage to be cheaper with very similar if not better line-ups. And don’t give me any tree hugging green carbon footprint bollocks either, it’s just GREED.

Can you talk to maiden and get them to play Alexander the great ‘cus that would be epic!
