I’d rather not Sonisphere… they were awesome and all, but I want a different headliner. I would rather they just play arena shows and stuff than festivals. And I hope they take some time off for the next album after this year.

Moshtank

i agree with greg although id love to see em anywhere
but preferably in england….come back metallica!!!!!

'tallicaMadness

wembley was brilliant but werent a sell out maybe because it was a sunday and thats a pretty crap day to play because of transport!!!

o2 arena there’ve already done 3 times in 2 years? so hopefully like milton keynes?

come back to dublin, was fuckin immense!

the chances of a new album next year are pretty slim. might see one surface in 2011/12 but they will be touring pretty much solid for most of next year. id like to see them do smaller shows and show their fans they can be a little more old school with gigs rather than ask for £100 a pop for a ticket to see them at wembly. either way im hoping they can build themselves up for new material similar to Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets.

Jason Freeman

Millenium Stadium!

Rock Fan

Stadium of light!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Jason, Millenium stadium in cardiff would be sic!

Laimonas

Oh my fucking god!!! they’re coming to Lithuania O.o I guess god really exist…

Luke – £100 for a ticket at Wembley? Have you been buying the gold plated ones?

I reckon it will be Download or maybe a possible return to Reading Festival. I will always attend Reading for Metallica, coz I prefer the fact that you can chill around campfires at Reading after a hard day rocking out, for me its just generally a better atmosphere.

No to the Reading fest. Most of the bands there are boring indie twats. Go for Download or Bloodstock! Andi hope they visit Glasgow!

@ Me im just saying it would be pretty cool if they did smaller venues than big stadiums. just because they are more famous than most bands doesnt mean they should abandon the venue scene. they started out that way so why shouldnt they continue it? being famous is no excuse for not letting fans who cant get to London/Manchester/Download or whatever to see them live

hope they play download but i wouldnt expect it. i’m guessing it’ll be 2 stadium shows in the uk, maybe wembly maybe milton keynes, plus a scottish date at hampden or murrayfield then maybe an irish date at irelands fitbaw ground

Luke – they played 2 dates at the O2 Arena which is 1/4 of the capacity of Wembley and various shows around the country on this tour, what do you want them to do, play the Camden Underworld? I’m not saying they’ll never play small venues, but it’s unlikely they’ll ever play tiny venues again unless it’s for a one-off fanclub gig. You have to remember that they are the most successful back catalogue selling artist in the world over the last 10+ years, so they’re not going to play the tiny venues because they’d have to play 1000’s of shows to make the tour economically viable.

@Me – im not saying they should play small shows for economical value (which i didnt bring up) to fans. im saying they should play smaller venues for fans to enjoy them in a closed space. look at Devildriver for example. they are pretty big right now but they take out the time to play smaller venus for fans because they are loyal to their fan base. hell even Motorhead go out of their way to play small venues for their fan base. all im saying is i hope that Metallica reach this level of support for their fans. maybe you enjoy being surrounded by thousands of strangers in a venue where you have to rely on 100″ tv monitors in order to be able to see them, but im one who likes to be able to stand in a crowd of hundreds and be able to see the band shred the shit out of a hall, club or theatre and be close enough to feel the energy of the band play and not rely on monitors.

Luke (x)

and the fact they have one of the biggest selling back catalogues shouldnt excuse them from playing small venues to play for their fans. fans are gonna be there for life, records come and go.

Luke, you’re the one missing the point here. I never said that you’d commented about economical value, however you did comment on paying £100 at wembley. Comparing Devildriver to Metallica is like comparing Real Madrid to Accrington Stanley, absolutely worthless. Devildriver are “pretty big right now” yes, but they couldn’t sell out Wembley Stadium. They couldn’t sell out Wembley Arena. Mate, they couldn’t sell out Hammersmith Apollo. It’s not that they and Motorhead go out of their way to play smaller venues, with all due respect, it’s that they don’t have the ticket selling power of Metallica and therefore don’t get booked to play the same venues. Truthfully, I’d rather see Metallica in a venue like the O2 Arena, with them playing in the round, because I, along with about 1000 other fans, managed to get within 25 feet of the band – try that in a small venue! Yes I’d like to see them play a show or two at somewhere like the Underworld, but please refer back to my previous point economical viability and/or fanclub shows.

Devildriver big? lol not compared to metallica . Same goes for motorhead.

krasherr

well ac/dc did it back in 2003 so why cant metallica?

Oh I don’t fucking know, let’s stop having a hypothetical argument and see what they announce, eh?

They gotta come back to Dublin! Last time was epic….

wade666

i think in all honesty they should play my back garden! but failling that, wembley stadium would be great again! thats if they do play england, fingers crossed!

Wade – well I’m sure big bands like Devildriver would play your back garden, so Metallica should…

Laimonas

@Luke they are going to play in Lithuania for only 10000 people not in stadium, but indoors, so i think its going to be a kick-ass show :)
