not the best set list!american one was better but you cant please everyone!they will still lift the roof off the m.e.n tonight!!!

OMG!! The Judas Kiss!!! They better play it at Newcastle!!
Quality set-list!

metalbhoy

No Creeping Death? Gutted!

However, this is still a tremendous set-list, which will only be helped by the AWESOME Machine Head, and The Sword. 26th of March, Glasgow SECC. Gonna be a night to remember methinks.

cameron

why are they not doing some kind of monster or st anger?

i was at the nottingham gig and basically it was still awesome..the new tracks sounded superb…and it was very very loud.

Persistent_VS

No Leaf Clover!?!?! I’m sure they have much better songs to choose from…

Ride The Lightning, Creeping Death, The Unforgiven, Last Caress, all missing, this is quite a disappointment.

Nice one Metal Hammer, I bet you lot go around telling people what they’ll be getting for Xmas too…

Couldn’t this have been kept quiet? I thought half the fun of going to gigs was wondering what was/wasn’t going to get played. I’m pretty sure the buzz that ran through The Astoria a few years back when it became apparent Slayer were in the process of playing the whole of “Reign In Blood” in it’s entirety wouldn’t have been as good if everone was in on the secret.

Well you could have just avoided the link Skumbo.

Aled1503

Don’t worry Skumbo, they’ll play a different set every night!

I was there and it was awesome, Leper Messiah, Fight Fire With Fire, The Judas Kiss!! they can’t play everything unfortunately!

p.s. I think No Leaf Clover is a much better song performed live without the orchestra

If they have to play one from S&M, Minus Human is a way better track.

I don’t mind the setlist, but like you say, there’s some that really should be on there and some that shouldn’t. My only real quibble is why they keep closing with Seek and Destroy? They did it on every leg of the US tour and seem to be here now. Dammit, close with Whiplash or something faster and heavier!

ghod that failed

they change their setlist every nyt, cos a get emails fae them wi the setlist of every show n its different every gig.

the only song fae that a dont ken is no leaf clover.

hope they play for whom the bell tolls, fade to black and blackend at glasgow tho, there ma faves, aside from one of course!!!!

Jack6717 – yeah, good point. I didn’t think that one through…

Nice but NOWHERE near enough older shit. I love the new album, but too much of it on here.

Definatley lacking Creeping Death.

noobpotato

@ cameron
I think they realise how unpopular st anger was and just leaving it. And lars won’t have his steel snare so it would sound different

Vanessa

But… The Unforgiven! THE UNFORGIVEN! I’m disappointed now.

I mean, I’m still pretty much close to orgasm over the fact I’m finally losing my Metallica virginity on Tuesday but still, The Unforgiven should be in there.

ok, so yeah no creeping death or the unforgiven….but theres a bigger thing missing from this set list…..

WHERE THE F**K IS BATTERY!!!

to people complaining bout the new stuff bein over represented … well it is the World Magnetic Tour, surely its only what u expect

Battery shuld def be on there somewhere tho

Forget it

That set list isn’t accurate. Not same for whole tour. Just got back from M.E.N, they played Blackened, Cyanide, For Whom The Bell Tolls etc, was shockingly good an best show i’ve been to.

godzy89

manchester was fuckin awesome !!!
what a stage show
lasers, explosions, fire, in the round and fantastic music
need say no more

someone say something about Machine Head. Can’t wait for 28th March at the o2

they have played creeping death over a thousand times! i dont blame them for switching the arena and festival set list up

i’ll say something about machine head they were shit compared to the xmas gig they did with slipknot at the MEN Arena and i have to say Metallica were crunkin awesome man!!!!!! and glad i heard them do the songs we got, not like the Nottingham one!!!

The Metallica boys kick ass!!!

[...] FM Arena this past Wednesday. It was the first date of Metallica’s mammoth European tour and you can check out the band’s set-list. No Creeping Death? We’re still not happy about [...]

Kris Dobo

Who cares about Creeping Death when they played Blackend last night at Manchester!

Long and short is that they can’t please everyone with what they play. I know I can pretty much real off my setlist, but they have to vary it a bit. I was shocked when they didn’t play Enter Sandman at the fan club show, but shit happens. I’d love to hear Orion at every show, but they can only play a 9 minute (live version) instrumental so many times. Either way, I can’t wait to see them twice this month!

I miss Creeping Death… :( and couple of other songs :) but it’s still amazing playlist. I hope they will come somewhere near Slovenia or, even better, to Slovenia xD

Lee Wilson

I’ll say something about machine head too… after seeing phil collapse at the sheffield gig with slipknot i was waiting to see them complete Halo again and finish with Davidian… which they did (in nottingham).. and if they keep beautiful mourning in their set lists for the rest of tour they cant fail to disappoint…
Metallica were clearly brilliant too – but thats a given… 10,000 people all with their personal favourites… you have to go away happy that they mash the place up for over two hours.. and no leaf clover live was awesome..

can’t wait to see them at newcastle, nothing else matters is on the set list so im happy, they will lift the roof hell yeah!!!

Going to see them in Newcastle tomorrow night…. It’s gonna be amazing! Nothing else matters… Can’t wait for it!

Saw them last night at the O2. Simply amazing, was such a great show. Wasn’t expecting Turn The Page or Nothing Else Matters.

They did play Creeping Death :)

Machine Head were awesome as well but let down by a muddy sound. Shame as they put on a great show. Didn’t see Sword as I was eating a burger :p

CREEPING DEATH?
RIDE THE LIGHTNING?
BATTERY?
HIT THE LIGHTS?
ST.ANGER? (Just Kidding)

But come on Where are the classics?
