Metallica For Wacken 2010?
It would appear that the metal giants could be in line for their first ever Wacken performance at next year’s festival.
According to a story on Blabbermouth, Italian website MetalItalia have spoken to Thomas Jensen of ICS Festival Service GmbH, which organizes the Wacken Open Air festival.
In his statement, Jensen revealed: “We’re in contact with Metallica, and we’ll meet with John Jackson [Matallica’s booking agent) at the end of March to plan out their next Wacken appearance. (Metallica’s participation in the festival) probably will (happen) in 2010.”
He also revealed that the festival are trying to book Manowar and Saxon for this year’s already sold-out festival.
Sonisphere will be headlined by Metallica and Linkin Park and will take place on August 1st – 2nd at Knebworth. Also on the bill will be Nine Inch Nails, Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Alice In Chains, Mastodon, Anthrax, Airbourne, Thin Lizzy, Killing Joke and The Sword.

I’d love to go to Wacken…
That’s awesome the biggest band in metal at the worlds biggest metal festival!
Just for that, I may have to go again next year!
I’ll be impressed if they manage to get Saxon & Manowar this year as I have tickets for this year
