Metallica ‘Kill ‘Em All’ Vans Shoes To Be Released. MASSIVE WANT.
Sometimes, just sometimes, a massive band puts their name on a famous brand and hot damn, it works. This is one of those times.
Metallica have revealed that they’ve teamed up with Vans to launch a set of special edition trainers (or sneakers if you’re American) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band’s incredible debut, 1983′s Kill ‘Em All.
According to Vans, the Kill ‘Em All pack will consist of “both the Vans Slip On and Sk8 Hi, with each one dressed in the hand and hammer design used for the cover art. Done in red, white and black, the vibrant kicks will give anyone instant rock-star status.”
Alright that’s more than a bit patronising, but they look fucking rad and we want them.
Check out some photos of the set courtesy of those lovely people at Blacklist below:
Metal Blade CEO and the man that signed Metallica, Brian Slagel, interviewed the band a few years back to talk through their memories of the Kill ‘Em All album. Find out what the band had to say by casting your eyes and ears downwards…
Released in 1983, Kill ‘Em All went on to become not only one of the most beloved and celebrated metal debuts of all time, but helped to define thrash metal itself. You should already know all this, but on the off-chance that you’ve been a heinous bell end and don’t own the album, now’s as good a time as any to go and educate yourself. Go on.
Mental. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for some proper news on when that next studio album is going to be out…
