Metallica: Lars Ulrich Talks Orion Festival

Metallica drummer and top Dane Lars Ulrich has spoken about the band’s controversial new festival, which features the likes of Arctic Monkeys, The Gaslight Anthem and Modest Mouse.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has commented on the upcoming Metallica Orion Festival, which has caused some controversy among metal fans as it looks like they’ve basically decided to make a Reading and Leeds festival in Atlantic City.
“This whole thing is kind of based more around the classic festivals that we’ve been playing in Europe for the better part of the last 25, 30 years, which is really about diversity and really about kind of many, many different musical experiences,” Lars told The Pulse Of Radio. “So that’s kind of what we’re going for. Now whether anybody buys into that or not, we’ll find out, but there’s gonna be lots and lots of cool, heavy stuff, trust me.”
Okay, Lars, we trust you. Just as long as you bring your game to Download this year. Agreed? Good.
Plus, to be fair, they’re playing ‘Ride The Lightning’ in full at this Orion thing, so that’s guaranteed to be fucking spectacular.
The Orion Music And More Festival will take place June 23-24 at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and features the following acts:
Arctic Monkeys • Avenged Sevenfold
Modest Mouse • The Gaslight Anthem
Cage The Elephant • Fucked Up • Best Coast
Hot Snakes • Titus Andronicus
Gary Clark Jr. • Lucero • Roky Erickson
The Black Angels • The Sword
A Place to Bury Strangers • Liturgy
