Metallica & Megadeth To Tour Together?

Dave Mustaine has been making some very ominous noises about Megadeth’s upcoming touring schedule.

In a recent posting, Dave Mustaine has said the following: “Today is the 9th of April and I have agreed to doing something last night that I am sure a lot of people are going to be very excited about, and something that I had hoped would one day lead to another one of the potential feuds going away for good, if not for a long while.

“I can’t confirm the band or the dates yet, and I have to go get my youngster up for school. Rest assured, as soon as we are ready to announce it, you will be one of the first to know.”

Mounting online speculation is suggesting that this could pave the way for Megadeth to be touring with either Metallica or Slayer, after Mustaine’s very public feuding with various members of Metallica and Slayer’s Kerry King.

In recent related news, Dave Mustaine issued an open letter to Metallica about their recent induction to the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame. Mustaine has also lauded new lead guitarist Chris Broderick as the best guitarist the band have ever had.

I’m not so sure touring with either Metallica or Slayer would be a good move purely because they are both bigger than Megadeth and so are more worthy of the headline slot.

Got tickets to Metallica at Madison Square Garden so hope this is right

I think that Megadeth will be at sonisphere :)

Dave could play most of the songs off “Kill ‘Em All” seeing as he wrote them and never got given the credit.

I’m not knocking Slayer, but Megadeth have sold 20 million albums and had 6 platinum records in the US- Slayer have never had a platinum record and haven’t sold anything like that number. Megadeth are the “bigger” band. No one’s bigger than Metallica, of course. Having said all that, can you imagine a bill that included Megadeth AND either Metallica or Slayer? How incredible would that be? I would go completely mental if it happened- here’s hoping.

I have a hunch Megadeth AND Slayer will play Sonisphere. Can you imagine that? All of the Big Four (and potentially Testament too) at one festival? Mmmm… *crosses legs*

Good call repka/matt. When i read this on the Mdeth website i instantly thought sonisphere..

I dont know why but I cant see megadeth supporting metallica on a tour…

We will see.

Slayer cant play sonisphere since they are playing Mayhem :(

As awesome as it would be seeing Megadeth and Metallica on the same tour.. i dont think thats what it its, because he says ‘another one of the fueds going away’, and isnt the metallica/mustaine fued already supposed to be gone?

Megadeth and Slayer touring would be awesome too, and with both releasing new albums maybe thats a possibility? Hopefully if they do they come down under!! lml

It’s probably something less exciting, like whatever band Ellefson is in right now.

I was thinking more along the lines of a one off show, where Mustaine takes Hammets place and plays a few old school Metallica songs that Dave helped to write, aka most of Kill Em All and a couple of songs from Ride.

I thought Mustaine wasn’t feuding with Metallica anymore? Anyway, it would be completely amazing to see Mustaine, Hetfield and Ulrich on the same stage. Shouldn’t the big four just go out and tour together? Then we can get to work on organising a Maiden/Priest/Sabbath gig!

Hey Skumbo, yes he did
Look in the liner notes of Kill ‘em All, he has writing credits. He even has credits on RTL

Now be quiet

yh frank’s right, dave mustaine did get credits for kill ‘em all

ptshhhh if i had my way Megamazingdeath would headline n metallnotsoamazingica would support.

The big 4 of thrash should tour together ;D
Then again if Megadeth play Sonisphere then i’ll deffo be off to Sonisphere :D

graemeproduction

who cares.

it would be funny if it was rotting christ that they were gonna tour with lol

violentfluid

scott, mate only Metallica are bigger than Megadeth.Slayer, as much as i love them are small fry in comparisen

i think it will be slayer that megadeth will tour with.i would not like to see metallica on tour with megadeth because they are a bunch of shitheads.id love to break that cunt lars face in.

Frank and Jas: no, get your facts right. He might have got writing credits for SOME of the songs on Kill ‘Em All but he didn’t get all of them. Dave wrote songs that Metallica used/stole all the way up to Master Of Puppets, Leper Messiah being a major one. Yeah, they gave him thanks and stuck his name on a few of the song credits but he didn’t get the thanks that he deserved seeing as the majority of people believe that the first 3 Metallica albums are the most important.

There’s a crap load of songs that Dave wrote that are actually credtited to Hetfield/Ulrich and have no right to be.

Now you cunts be quiet.

first of all, megadeth would open for metallica. its just plain obvious.second of all, they would probably do something like at the rock and roll hall of fame with jason and rob, and have dave and kirk. thirdly, rock on metallica.
