Sonisphere organiser contradicts The Times Online’s Metallica report.

A report by The Times Online today that Metallica will headline Sonisphere for the next three years has been contradicted.

The Times Online reported today that the metal giants were locked in to headline the next three years of Sonisphere as part of a multi-million pound deal. Metalhammer.co.uk contacted Sonisphere organizer Stuart Galbraith in response to the report. “No, that isn’t right,” he said, stating that Metallica are only due to play as headliners this year.

Sonisphere will take place on August 1st and 2nd at Knebworth and will be headlined by Metallica and Linkin Park. Get your Sonisphere ticket details and the full Sonisphere announcement, including an exclusive interview with Sonisphere organizer, Stuart Galbraith.

if they don;t reduce their prices this festival isn;t going to get a second year.

this festival could have been immense. shame all Galbraith wants to do is line his pockets with our cash. c**t.

i agree, £157 for the weekend, Reading is much better value. I expected this to be more reasonably priced. Money grabbing twat !!

£800+ for a weekend staying in a wooden “pod” for fuck sake. who can afford that?

the basic weekend ticket with camping (2 days) is the same price as download for 3 days with camping. shame downloads line up is crap this year.

roll on bloodstock and damnation.

Bloodstock rules!
More “let’s have some fun” than “lets rinse everyone for every single penny they’ve got”

The price for Sonisphere is stupidly over priced… But if they add who I think they are going to add then I am going to have to cough up the money to go. Download Festival’s headliners have gotten worse over the last 3 years.
