Metallica Plotting ‘Mind-Blowing’ 2011 Stage Show

Metallica are putting something together that could rival Pink Flod’s legendary ‘The Wall’ show.

According to Metallica’s manager, the San Francisco thrashers are plotting something huge for next year’s touring schedule.

Speaking with Classic Rock, Mensch has said: “Let’s just say that next year you will see a Metallica tour that will blow your mind. They will only play in 10 cities but it will be a huge undertaking. It will be Metallica’s equivalent of ‘The Wall’.”

“Between you and me, some of it is recycling stuff that people did 25 years ago but no one’s smart enough to know that we recycled it.

“Saying something like: ‘I have this idea for us to play an equivalent of ‘The Wall’. So here’s some ideas so we can get the professionals in to they can tell me if I’m crazy or not.’ It’s like plotting out a canvas so someone else can fill it in.”

theoutlawtorn

Sounds very exciting indeed!!

jimmy, out of only 10 cities in the world do you really think they gonna come to brum?

Laurence

you really think they will even bother with britain? they will play this in the states alone. Part of the reason the Wall tour wasn’t toured around the wolrd was because the logistics of moving the state were ridiculous…. that toured ended up costing more than it made, despite selling out every single gig!

they will tour this in 10 cities in america and if we’re lucky we’ll see the DVD 2 years later.

Laurence, of course they will play Britain. It is one of their favourite places and they will always pull a large(if not sold out) crowd.

It will be 10 places around the world, ala Iron Maiden.

3 Europe
4 US dates
3 random places?

1 of which will be Britain at the biggest place they can get so either Wembley or just a huge field like Hyde Park/Donington.

Can’t see it making it to Download still mind you.

i’d get excited but i’m willing to bet its 10 US shows

Id bet on it only being in the states, i doubt itll rival ‘the wall’ tour or even any of maidens sets so i doubt we’ll be to disappointed if its not coming over here.

London, New York, LA or San Fran, Dallas, Sydney, Tokyo, somewhere in Brazil (Rio or Sao Paulo) and the rest in Europe. What odds would you get in the bookies for that? That pretty much covers the globe and their main fanbases in those regions.

Moshtank

im guessing it will be centred around giant hammers crushing down on the stage with blood flung into the crowd, giant hands in the sky, electric chairs on stage that fire lightning, live snakes, another lady justice statue that crumbles, a whatever the fuck is on the covers of the load albums, metallica dressed up as garage mechanics, a live orchestra, a giant red fist plummeting into the stage and a giant coffin shaped hole that sucks the props up at the end of the show

best play England or I’ll be pissed

Liverpool Echo Arena i know its to small for them but i want them to come here D:

Not a scally

@ Adam

Fuck the Echo Arena, they can do it on Anfield.

Someone needs to hire Moshtank to direct stage shows. The Load album cover is blood and jizz though so maybe leave that one out

Maybe it will be like a Dethklok show on metalocalypse

Thrash head tom

20 yr’s of the blk album,25 yr’s of puppets & 30 yr’s of metallica cause it’s gonna b special.hell yeah!

I’m a Metallica fan but in fairness they’re the kings of hyperbole when it comes to this stuff. It’s only going to take away from it anyway. They don’t need a big flashy stage, just play your balls off live and thats it. The last two times I saw them was cannons and flamethrowers for One and fireworks for the finale, and it was still a kickass show.

it has got be a massive show just to get lars ego under the roof !!

Yay I’m gonna feel even more dettached from metallica than I have before! May as well watch it on youtube afterwards!

i think they re coming to ECUADOR!!! lmL -.- lmL, metal sounds louder at the middle of the world
Long live METALLICA

Could it revolve around Master Of Puppets as next year is the 25th anniversary of its release with a holographic Cliff playing Orion.

There’s 3 places I know with the capacity to do something like this:

Earl’s Court (that’s where Pink Floyd performed ‘The Wall’)

Hyde Park (Live 8 was held there, 100,000 people or so)

Knebworth (not Sonisphere, a one-off gig – 300,000 capacity possible)

'tallica_legends

metallica wont do knebworth… 300,000? c’mon?

metallica didnt even sell out wembley there was 65,000 there..

they mite jus do what they done this year and do an indoor tour agen?

I can see this being played at Madison Square Garden and I will so be there eventhough it will cost a shitload

3 words, To Ron To
