It’s weird to think that, for a band that was once so dead against the idea of doing promo videos for their songs, Metallica have brought out some great ones over the years. I still get goosebumps when I watch “Wherever I May Roam”, that whole period was a pretty exciting time for Metallica (and rock music in general) and it sums up just what a huge touring machine they’d become. “One” is still pretty shocking to watch, even today. And “St Anger” is just fuckin’ radical when the guard is telling them that if they get taken hostage the state will not negotiate with the prisoners (listen closely and I’m sure you can here Lars’ arsehole squeeze up…). Makes you wonder what videos for somgs like “Fade To Black” and “Battery” might have looked like.

I’ve just watched the video- as usual “Aesthetics of Hate (RIP Dimebag)” is awesome. Where is Phil Demmel?- can’t wait for Sonisphere. MfH Rule!!!!!! James did a good job on the guitar- BUT WHERE IS PHIL DEMMEL was he in Germany?

Im quite fond of the live video for Fade To Black but yeah Skumbo it could have been pretty sweet.
I respect that Metallica refused for 3 full albums to make a single video, but i also love most of the videos they have released since then. St Anger may have been a crappy album but the actual video for the song is awsome (so is Frantic). Very fond of the videos for ‘Until it Sleeps’, ‘The Unforgiven’ and ‘Wherever i may Roam’ too.
