Metallica’s Next Album Set For Online Release?
Metallica are now free of their recording contract following September’s release of ‘Death Magnetic’ and have been discussing the possibility of their next album being released online.
Lars Ulrich, no stranger to being grilled about all things online and musical, spoke to Rolling Stone about this possibility and has said:
“We’re free of our record contract. We have that element of complete freedom with the next record, so we can do whatever we want. We could do an Internet thing or even put it on (American hockey player) Andy Greene’s record label.”
“I wouldn’t hold my breath for another Metallica record,” said Ulrich before anyone got their hopes up for a new Metallica album anytime soon. “I’m still decompressing and coming down from the whole experience of the last one, but if we spit one out every four or five years that’s not so bad.”

Yeah, its always ripe for a new Metallica album! I haven’t heard all the songs from Death Magnetic, but the songs I heard rock!!!

Great! Death Magnetic is easily a highlight of this year for me along with the releases of albums from Underoath, Venom, Tesla, Soulfly and Edguy. Great stuff…

Death Magnetic is St.Anger with better riffs. Nothing new. They were great when they were young and hungry. Now they’re old, rich and trying to recapture there youth. Nice try, but no dice. R.I.P. Metallica

Death Magnetic was the fucking shit. My fourth favortie album, St. Anger is fifth. And no doubt there will be a new album. They aren’t done. They’re still fucking metal. They can do it, as long as the fans want it. I speak for the whole entire group of Metallibangers when I say WE WANT ANOTHER FUCKING METALLICA ALBUM!!!! LIVE ‘TALLICA, DIE ‘TALLICA!!!!!
