Lol since when were Mudvayne ‘Math Metal’ as such? xD

erm, a long time.

Joel, you obviously know nothing about math-metal. Mudvayne were one of the first bands to become recorgnised world wide for Math-Metal. bands like LOG came later after it was more recognised as a genre. but im assuming you’ve only heard their recent efforts, which arent as technical, but you wanna look at the the beginning of the end, LD50 and the end of all things to come. the new album seems to be looking good but i’ll wait and have a listen when its being streamed in full before i commit to buying because the last 2 albums were very disappointing.

and just before you start saying who started and it all that bollocks, Meshuggah were the one of the first bands and are considered the grandfathers of Math-Metal. just so we are clear

What the fuck is “math-metal”?? I assume by LOG you mean Lamb of God? They are Pantera clones so does that mean Pantera are math-metal??? I thought they were plain old fashioned heavy fucking metal!

Ok. How about we just call it metal. Damn good metal at that.

Fair dos, but I thought ‘Math metal’ was more stuff like Botch, Sikth, Psypuss, Rolo Tomassi etc

Thought Mudvayne were more in the same vein as bands like Soil, kind of generic american metal?

Not that I’m criticising them mind, shall look into their earlier stuff :p

I think the album cover and packaging idea are cool. Paul Booth is amazing tattoo artist, so they can’t go wrong with that. I hope the albums is good but I get the feeling it was a little rushed.

The song scream with me is sweet but i think nameing the album just mudvayne is like all the other bands have done i.e Slipknot and System of a Down, But it all sounds like a gd album to listen out for.

mudvayne is put as all type of metal. They came from nothing and created a sound that was unheard of so please stop tryin to label a band to make yourself feel better its pitifull and stupid. And who gives a f**k what math metal is. Its not pop so who cares i sure dont

Math Metal is a genre that mudvaynes drummer made up in an interview to describe the band, it wasn’t a genre before he said it in the interview. The new album is amazing by the way.
